Calgary looks to get back in the win column after a 3-2 loss Sunday night to the Vegas Golden Knights. The Sharks, on the other hand, are looking to open their five-game homestand with a win after dropping their last two games.

The Flames are a -143 favourite to win with the NHL odds, with a total of 5.5 goals.

Flames vs. Sharks NHL Betting Odds

This is the second meeting of the year between the Sharks and Flames. San Jose took the first game by a score of 4-1 back on November 9. The Sharks improved their record to 7-3 over their last 10 contests against the Flames. However, history is on the Flames side as the road team is 5-1 in the last six meetings.

The Flames are 1-4 against the spread in the last five head-to-heads, while the Sharks are 6-2 ATS in the last eight.

Calgary Flames

Calgary averaging 3.16 goals per game, good for 12th in the NHL. In addition, the Flames are seventh in shots per game and 18th in shooting percentage. Johnny Gaudreau leads Calgary with 28 points and he has points in nine of his last 10 games. Andrew Mangiapane leads the team in goals with 17.

The Flames’ defence and goaltending are tops in the NHL. Calgary is allowing only 2.04 per game, with a save percentage of .931. That is due in large part to the play of Jacob Markstrom. Markstrom has a record of 10-5-4 with a 1.83 goals-against average and .937 save percentage. But, Markstrom has given up three goals in two of his last four starts.

San Jose Sharks

The Sharks return home after a successful five-game road trip where they went 3-2 and now sit just on the outside of the playoff picture. San Jose continues to play well after a solid start to the season. However, it is never easy to return after a long road trip. Usually, the team returning home loses that game. Despite their success, the Sharks have scored two goals or less in seven of the last 10 games. San Jose averages 2.64 goals per game, which ranks 25th in the NHL. Timo Meier leads the team in points with 26 and goals with 11. Meier has points in five of the last seven games.

The Sharks will most likely turn to James Reimer in net. Reimer is 8-4-1 with a 2.11 GAA and .934 SV. Over his past five games, Reimer has given up a total of 10 goals.
