Ottawa dropped a fifth straight game with a 4-3 home loss against the Canucks on Saturday night, pushing the Sens to second-last in the Atlantic Division. Calgary came out on the right side of a 4-3 home shootout win against the Wild on Saturday to record their fourth straight win while moving into second place in the Pacific Division.

The Senators are -150 favourites to win on the NHL odds, with the total set at 6.0.

Flames vs. Senators NHL Betting Odds

Calgary and Ottawa have split the last two season series’, with the home team winning all four games. The Over/Under also split evenly in that stretch.

The Flames have looked like a different team on the road this season. While Calgary has surged to a 9-3-0 record at the Saddledome, they are a middling 3-3-3 on the road. That suits Ottawa just fine as they are 5-5-1 at the Canadian Tire Centre compared to a below average 3-6-0 on the road.

Once again it’s the Flames who have made out better when it comes to rewarding bettors this season. Calgary is 12-9 against the spread, while the Senators are 9-11 ATS.

Calgary Flames

The Flames blew a two-goal third period lead against Minnesota on Saturday, but Rasmus Andersson scored the shootout winner to salvage the two points. Martin Pospisil, Kevin Rooney and Yegor Sharangovich scored in regulation, while Dan Vladar made 20 saves for his fourth win of the season. Andersson also had an assist for his team-leading 13th point (5G, 8A), but Jonathan Huberdeau was held off the scoresheet for the fourth time in the last five games.

Dustin Wolf has been the hot hand for Calgary this year, so he’s expected to get the start in net on Monday. Wolf has won his last four starts, allowing four total goals over that span. His record of 8-2-1 with a 2.33 goals-against average and .926 save percentage has him among the favourites to win the Calder Trophy this season.

Ottawa Senators

Ottawa pushed back late against the Canucks on Saturday, scoring twice in the final four minutes, but ultimately fell short and suffered a fifth straight loss. Brady Tkachuk and Claude Giroux scored power play markers, while Tim Stutzle scored in regulation. Stutzle leads the team in points (24) and Tkatchuk leads in goals (10). Linus Ullmark allowed four goals on 21 shots faced, suffering his seventh regulation loss in 12 starts this season.

There’s been no word on a starter in net for Monday between Ullmark and Anton Forsberg. Ullmark was signed in the off-season to be the No. 1 option, but he’s had an up-and-down year while largely being outplayed by Forsberg. At 4-7-1 with a 3.10 GAA and .881 SV, Ullmark’s numbers are well below what’s expected of a Vezina Trophy-winning golatender. Forsberg is 3-4-0 with a 2.76 GAA and .903 SV, but he’s allowed three or more goals in three of his last four starts.
