One of the best teams in the NHL will visit one of the worst in a Saturday showdown. The Calgary Flames are currently second in the Western Conference with a 43-19-9 overall record. They also enter with momentum having won three straight, scoring 11 goals in the process. Meanwhile, the Seattle Kraken are already eliminated from the playoffs and are second last in the conference. The good news is they’ve won five of 10 and have been big dogs along the way.

These two teams will meet up in home-and-home that starts on Saturday and ends on Tuesday. Can the Kraken cash on Saturday night and continue to be a valuable option for bettors?

Calgary is a -237 favourite to win on the NHL odds, with a total of 6.0.

Flames vs. Kraken NHL Betting Odds

The Flames have been a stellar bet of late. They are undefeated in their last four games played on the road and have an 8-1 record in their past nine when playing on a Saturday. To make it better, they are 16-5 in their last 21 as a road favourite.

On the other hand, the Kraken are 5-16 in their past 21 matchups against a team from the Pacific Division. They are also 5-18 in their last 23 when coming into the game following a win in their previous outing. Also, Seattle has lost their past five contests against teams with a winning percentage over .600 on the season.

Calgary Flames

The Flames are a very complete team. It’s hard to beat a roster that excels both offensively and defensively on a consistent basis. They are ranked sixth in the league in terms of goals scored per game, and second in goals allowed per game. Johnny Gaudreau leads the offence with 99 points.

One concern here is that the Flames are wrapping up a four-game road trip and this is the last stop. This is also their fourth game in six nights, so fatigue could be a factor.

Seattle Kraken

Although the last expansion team (Vegas Golden Knights) came in and played really well immediately, nobody expected the Kraken to step in and do the same. Trying to mesh a brand new team together throughout the stretch of a season is difficult, which is why they remain at the bottom of the conference for now. They are second last in the NHL in goals scored per game at 2.58. Their top point scorer, Yanni Gourde, is sitting at 41 on the year.

What’s interesting, though, is that it feels like a lightbulb has gone on of late. After winning just 17 of their first 60 games, they’ve now won six of their last 11. They’ve been a live dog of late, so they might be worth a chance here – especially playing at home against a team that could be fatigued.
