Calgary Flames coach Bill Peters is hoping Elias Lindholm can form a partnership with second line centre Mikael Backlund.
The Flames head to Las Vegas in search of their first win at the T-Mobile Arena, but the Golden Knights are hoping to extend their win streak and add to the Flames’ recent woes. Vegas goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is coming off back-to-back shutouts and he .987 save percentage over his last three appearances.

The Flames are 0-2 in their last two trips to the rink with the latest setback coming in the form of a 6-2 decision against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Calgary has surrendered 10 goals in its last two games with both starting and backup goalie sharing responsibility.
The two-game losing streak comes on the heels of a seven-game winning run that included two wins over the New York Islanders and a 5-4 win at Pittsburgh against Sidney Crosby and the Penguins.
Calgary remains the third best moneyline bet in the NHL. A $100 bettor would be up $844 if they backed the Flames in all of their games this season. The club is three points up on the San Jose Sharks for top spot in the West and Sports Interaction lists Calgary as the favourite to represent the conference in the Stanley Cup Final at +350.
Vegas comes into Wednesday’s matchup the winner of four straight but the team was heavy chalk in all four contests. The Knights are averaging 41.4 shots over their last eight games, but the under is 5-2 in their last seven.
The squad stands in sixth place in the West with 77 points from 67 games and it stands at 20-14 in its 34 home dates this eason. That record is decent but a far cry from last year when the Knights when 36-15 straight up in all games on their home ice.
Calgary Flames
Head coach Bill Peters is doing a bit of tinkering with his forward combinations. He’s broken up the big three of Elias Lindholm, Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau with Matthew Tkachuk taking Lindholm’s spot on the No. 1 line. Peters is hoping Lindholm can form a partnership with second line centre Mikael Backlund.
Gaudreau is the player Calgary backers really want to see light the lamp. The winger is fourth in the league scoring race with 84 points and he’s on a four-game point streak. At the same time, he has just one goal in his last 15 games.

Vegas Golden Knights
Vegas made a serious commitment at the trade deadline when they brought in former Ottawa Senator Mark Stone. The Knights immediately signed the 26-year-old winger to an eight-year, $76 million contract.
Stone has yet to find the back of the net in four games in a Knights jersey but his new club has yet to lose with him in the lineup. Calgary supporters are hoping Stone doesn’t end his scoring drought on Wednesday.
