Colorado's high flying offence is back on the ice Friday night as they open a home-and-home series against the Coyotes.
The Arizona Coyotes are looking to string together back-to-back surprise victories as they head into the “Mile-High” city to play the Colorado Avalanche Friday night.
Colorado enters the game against the Coyotes looking to get back into the win column after dropping a heartbreaker in Nashville the other night. Despite the loss, Colorado has points in six straight games as they look to be extend that streak tonight against Arizona.

If it was not for the play of goaltender Karel Vejmelka, the Coyotes would have lost to Toronto on Wednesday. Vejmelka stopped 45 shots of 46 shots faced, which is the second time Vejmelka has been stellar and has stolen a game for the Coyotes in the last week. He will need to do it again against the Avalanche, although will not be easy as the Coyotes ranked 31st in goals per game and goals against per game. Arizona has scored two or fewer goals in six of their last 10 games. Clayton Keller leads the team with 26 points.
Colorado Avalanche
The Avalanche are in the thick of things in the Central Division. Many expected them to be atop the division this year. A win over the Coyotes will go a long way to make sure the Avalanche get into the playoffs. It is a revenge game for Avalanche goaltender Darcy Kuemper, who played for the Coyotes the last two seasons before being traded to Colorado. He has not played up to standards this season, however, so this is a chance to right the ship. Kuemper has a record of 16-5-1 with a 2.86 goals-against average and .905 save percentage. In his career against Arizona, he is 4-0-2 with a 1.16 GAA and .955 save percentage.
Colorado has been able to outscore its goaltending woes this season. Nazem Kadri leads the team in points with 48 in 30 games. Cale Makar is tied for the team lead in goals with 16, alongside Mikko Rantanen. Colorado is a dangerous team top to bottom.
