That does not bold well for their opponent Friday night the Vancouver Canucks, who are in a tailspin. However, Vancouver does have wins in two of its last three games. Both of those wins have come on home ice. The Canucks are winless on the road in their last three contests. Which makes the chances of the Blue Jackets improving their 7-3 home record very good.

Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks continue to give lacklustre performances every night. The Canucks remain 28th in the league averaging 2.3 goals per game. Over their last six contests, the Canucks In three of those contests the Canucks scored just one goal. That is not going to cut it in today’s NHL. J.T. Miller leads all players with 19 points (seven goals and 12 assists) followed by Conor Garland and Quinn Hughes each with 14 points.

They’re not much better defensively either. Vancouver is giving up 3.25 goals per game which is good for 25th in the NHL. Columbus Blue Jackets

One of the big stories at the quarter mark of the NHL season is the Columbus Blue Jackets. They currently sit fourth in a tough Metro Division and occupy the first wild card spot. Nobody expected the Blue Jackets to be in this position. Columbus is averaging 3.41 goals per game and is doing this without any superstars on the roster. Oliver Bjorkstrand leads the team with 18 points followed by Jakub Voracek with 16 points.

Columbus is relying on their goaltenders, especially Elvis Merzlikins. Merzlikins has a 2.44 goals-against average and .926 save percentage heading into this contest.
