With precious few home games between now and mid-December, the Toronto Maple Leafs know they need to make the most of their home-ice advantage when they have it. Suffice to say that hasn’t been a problem of late.  Toronto has outscored the opposition 19-4 over the course of its impressive home run.

Bruins vs Maple Leafs Betting Analysis

Oddsmakers have the Maple Leafs as a good play to extend their home success, and recent head-to-head trends only fortify that belief. Toronto has won six of the previous seven meetings with the Bruins at Scotiabank Arena, while the home team has prevailed in eight of the past 10 encounters overall. Boston hasn’t been all that great away from TD Garden, having won just seven of its last 23 road games dating back to last season.

The total for this one is holding steady at 5.5, and the under should be a popular play with Toronto and Boston ranked second and third, respectively, in fewest goals against per game. Not surprisingly, both teams have also been terrific under options, with the Bruins having gone below the number seven times with one push in their last eight games against the Eastern Conference and the Leafs 8-1-1 to the under in their last 10 home games.

Boston Bruins

With star centre Patrice Bergeron on the shelf, the Bruins have relied even more heavily on their sensational defence and goaltending, and it has shown in their most recent results. Boston comes into this one having played five consecutive one-goal games, with three of them going to OT; the Bruins are 3-0-2 SU over that stretch, with all five games finishing below the total. Boston is also 20-7-1 in favour of the under in its past 28 road games.

Toronto Maple Leafs

While the Bruins have played in more than their share of close games, the same can’t be said for the Maple Leafs, who come in having played just a single one-goal game in their last 11 outings. And with an 8-3 SU mark over that stretch, it’s hard to argue with the process. And while they’ve been a great under option, the Leafs still have one of the league’s best offences, with three players at double digits in goals and three averaging a point per game or better.
