The excitement level has reached new heights in Cleveland, where Baker Mayfield and the new-look Browns offence welcome the Tennessee Titans to FirstEnergy Stadium on Sunday in the regular-season opener for both sides. Mayfield guides a Cleveland pass attack that added superstar Odell Beckham Jr. to the fold in the offseason. Tennessee faces plenty of questions on offence, but boasts a solid defence that could make life difficult for opponents this year.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The line for this game opened at Cleveland -5 – and as you might expect, a flood of money has come in on the home team, pushing the line to -6. More than 80 percent of Sports Interaction bettors are taking the home team minus the points; Cleveland covered three of four September games a season ago, but is just 2-8 ATS in its past 10 games as a favourite. Tennessee, on the other hand, is 6-2 ATS in its last eight as an underdog of five or more points.

The total for Sunday’s encounter is 45.5 – not quite on the level of Baltimore-Miami, but not exactly a barn-burner. And 63 percent of Sports Interaction participants are leaning toward the over, despite an incredible Browns home trend that has seen them go below the number 19 times with one push in their previous 27 games at FirstEnergy Stadium. It’s also worth noting that the Titans are just 2-5 O/U in their last seven road contests.

Tennessee Titans

How will the Titans’ offence operate under new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith? That’s the major question fans and bettors have, with Tennessee boasting several new faces on offence. Marcus Mariota returns under center, but his hold on the starting job could be a tenuous one if he gets off to a rocky start. Tennessee also added receivers Adam Humphries and A.J. Brown among other pieces, along with two new offensive linemen.

Cleveland Browns

Clevelanders aren’t the only ones psyched about the Browns: oddsmakers have them pegged as the fifth favourite to win the Super Bowl, listing them at +1400 alongside the Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles. The addition of Beckham is certainly a major one, but Cleveland also did plenty to strengthen its defensive line, adding defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson and defensive end Olivier Vernon in the offseason.
