Titans vs. Bills Point Spread: NFL Week 5 Odds, Prediction

The Bills will look to bounce back from a humbling shutout loss in Green Bay as they host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon. Buffalo fell 22-0 at Lambeau Field last weekend and will be in tough against a Titans team that has rode stout defence to a three-game winning streak.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Bills might be getting slightly more than a field goal in this one, but they haven’t been a good cover play as a home underdog, posting a 1-5 ATS record in their last six – including a 31-20 setback to the Los Angeles Chargers as a 7.5-point ‘dog in Week 2. But the Titans have been nearly as ineffective when favoured on the road, going just 2-5-1 ATS the last eight times they’ve been in that situation.

This game has a downright minuscule total of 39, and with good reason: they’ve combined to average just 31.3 points on the season, with three single-digit performances in that span. And both teams have solid under trends worth considering, as well. The Titans have cashed the under in six of their previous eight games against AFC foes, while the Bills are 1-4 O/U in their last five following a loss. But beware: The over is 17-5 in Buffalo’s last 22 home games.

Tennessee Titans

While the Titans’ offence remains a work in progress – one major reason why the under will be a popular play this week – the defence has improved by leaps and bounds since giving up 27 points to Miami in Week 1. The Titans enter the week sitting tied for eighth in sacks (12) and tied for seventh in forced fumbles (five) – and while they’re allowing nearly five yards per carry on the ground, they’re one of only two teams yet to allow a rushing score.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills can take solace in the fact that they limited two of the NFC’s elite in Minnesota and Green Bay to a combined 28 points. But they’ll need to do a much better job of protecting rookie quarterback Josh Allen against the Titans. Buffalo quarterbacks have been sacked a whopping 21 times through the first four games – the most of any team at this point in the season in the past decade.
