Texans vs. Chiefs Point Spread: NFL Predictions, Week 6 Odds

NFL Over bettors have their eyes on Week 6’s matchup between the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs. Houston is coming off a 53-point performance against the Falcons and Kansas City is looking to bounce back from its first loss of the season.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Patrick Mahomes isn’t accustomed to losing games in the NFL. The Chiefs are 16-5 straight up in regular season games since Mahomes became the starting quarterback. Kansas City’s latest setback came last weekend. The Colts won outright 19-13 as 10.5-point road underdogs.

The 13 points KC scored was by far the fewest the club had scored with Mahomes under centre. Their previous lowest mark was 26 points in Week 10 last year against Arizona. The Chiefs are now 3-2 against the spread this season (4-1 straight up) after failing to cover as heavy favourites in each of the last two weeks.

The Texans come into this game 3-2 SU and ATS. The Chiefs did the Texans no favours by failing to beat Indianapolis. The Colts are tied with Houston for first place in the AFC South. Sports Interaction still lists the Texans as the favourites in the division at +150.

SIA opened the spread with the Chiefs as 7.5-point home chalk. The spread has made a significant dip and now rests at just 4.5. The betting action is pretty split on this game. About 55 percent of Sports Interaction players are backing the favourites.

Houston Texans

In 2017, DeShaun Watson burst onto the scene in the NFL by powering the Houston Texans to a 57-14 win over the Tennessee Titans. It marked the highest scoring total for the franchise. Watson nearly bested the mark just two years later.

The former Clemson QB threw for 426 yards and five touchdowns while completing 28 of his 33 pass attempts. He also ran for 47 yards on four carries. Wideout Will Fuller was on the other end of more than half of passing yards piled up. He enjoyed a career day with 14 catches for 217 yards.

Kansas City Chiefs

Injuries are beginning to mount for Andy Reid’s squad. Patrick Mahomes is dealing with a sore ankle but is expected to play on Sunday. Unfortunately, two of his favourite targets might not play.

WR Tyreek Hill continues to sit with a collarbone issue while Sammy Watkins left the last game early because of a hamstring problem.
