Both the Ravens and Titans lost similar type games in week five, both by last second field goals, and both teams are feeling they probably should have won their respective games.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Its eerie how similar these two teams are through five weeks of the season. Both teams are 3-2 overall, both are 2-0 at home, and 1-2 on the road, and both are 3-2 against the spread. They have also split the last 10 games played (5-5). The Titans enter this game winners of 12 of their last 14 games at Nissan Stadium, and also 4-0 ATS as home underdogs. The Ravens are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games in Music City, and 2-5-1 ATS against the Titans in their last 8 overall.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens conclude a three game road trip in Tennessee Sunday afternoon. After starting the season 13 of 13 in the red zone, the Ravens haven’t scored a touchdown since the first quarter of their Sunday night game against the Steelers. Baltimore is still ranked 10th in total offence, but will have a tough time improving that mark against a Titans team that is ranked seventh overall.

One opportunity they might be able to take advantage of it to run the ball. The Titans enter this game allowing an average of 123.2 yards per game this season. Look for the Ravens to supply a healthy dose of both Alex Collins and Jarvorius Allen in the backfield; it could be a big day for both of them.

The Ravens defence has been very good this season, currently ranked fourth in the NFL on total defence, only giving up 14 or fewer points in four of their last five games. The one strike against them is their week two performance at Cincinnati, where they gave up 34 points to the Bengals.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans saw their three game winning streak disappear in Buffalo in week five. It just seemed like it was bound to happen, especially since their kicker was the best offensive player on the field. Ryan Succop made four field goals in the win, he gets marks for that. However, offensively speaking, much has to be improved on from their game in Western New York. Quarterback Marcus Mariota doesn’t seem 100 percent healthy, just yet. He threw for 129 yards (14-of-26 passing) and two interceptions, while Derrick Henry had another average game.

With the off-season retirement of DeMarco Murray, Henry was finally given the chance to be the lead rusher, and so far through five games, his biggest game total along the ground has been 57 yards. Also surprising, Henry does not have a rushing touchdown this season.

On defence, the Titans strength is their secondary. It is currently ranked third in the NFL in that category allowing an average of 210 yards per game; they bettered that mark against Buffalo, allowing the Bills only 79 yards though the air.
