The Baltimore Ravens will take their quarterback club on the road for another pre-season tour stop Saturday in Miami. Led by starter Joe Flacco, backups Robert Griffin III and rookie Lamar Jackson are each vying for that coveted number two-clipboard role. Sadly, neither has staked a major claim just yet so this game could be vital for the QB depth chart.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Although they’re at home, Miami opened as an underdog before the line moved to a pick ’em. Thus far, they’ve mustered out a pair of losses to Tampa Bay and Carolina and Ryan Tannehill is touchdown’less in his triumphant return year. The Miami faithful would love to forget about the Jay Cutler era as soon as possible, so a score from their starter would be exactly what the doctor ordered in this one

On the other side, the Ravens are a perfect 3-0-0 this pre-season although that record does includes a 1-2-0 trend against the spread (ATS). Meanwhile, to add to your confusion, the Dolphins are also an even 2-0-0 facing the over/under.

Baltimore Ravens

The black birds aren’t too stoked about Lamar Jackson taking licks this preseason. Unfortunately, though, for him to earn his spot he’s going to have strut his stuff. Jackson has completed just 18 of his 43 passes and will be looking for a huge performance to turn heads on Saturday. His ‘quarterback of the future’ tag is still intact but the longer he takes to develop, the longer a leash Joe Flacco gets in return.

On defence, the Ravens have five picks in three games. They also held Andrew Luck (and his injury-riddled baggage) to just 50-yards through 6 of 13 completed passes last week. On another note, on Tuesday the league suspended cornerback Jimmy Smith four games, which has opened the door for 2017 first rounder Marlon Humphrey. Watch for Humphries to get in some extra reps at Hard Rock Stadium this weekend.

Miami Dolphins

The fish are still the fish from the looks of things thus far. While you can never really gauge anything from a few exhibition games, you can get a sense of what to look out for. Kenyan Drake will be the team’s No. 1 back, but the second and third string gigs seem to be up for grabs (with Frank Gore not playing).

Meanwhile, at QB, will it be Bryce Petty or Brock Osweiler handling the headset in 2018? This game should leave us with a better indication.
