The Green Bay Packers slowed their slide down the NFC North standings – at least temporarily – with a pivotal 23-16 road win over the Chicago Bears. The Packers will look to make up ground on the division-leading Minnesota Vikings as they entertain the reeling Baltimore Ravens.

Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Not even a stirring victory over a division rival can earn the Packers favour among oddsmakers, who have tabbed them as home underdogs by nearly a field goal. While the majority of trends don’t really apply now that Aaron Rodgers is out indefinitely, the Packers have covered in four consecutive home games against teams with losing road records. The Ravens have struggled to cover on the road, going 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games outside Baltimore.

Nearly two-thirds of Sports Interaction bettors are leaning toward the Packers and the points, while a 94-percent majority are on board with the over on a 38-point total. The Ravens have exceeded the total in five straight games, while the Packers are 7-0 O/U in their last seven games against teams with losing records and have gone over the total in 10 of their previous 12 contests following a straight-up victory.

Baltimore Ravens

Quarterback Joe Flacco said that he wanted the Ravens’ offence to air it out more coming out of the break. It’s easy to understand why; Baltimore sits in the bottom half of the league in scoring at 21.1 points per game, squandering a defence that allows the eighth-fewest points per game in the NFL (19.0). Bettors who believe in Baltimore’s commitment to a more potent offence might want to take a shot on the Ravens going over their 20.5-point team total (1.85 payout).

Green Bay Packers

Who’s next? That’s what the Packers are wondering after losing yet another running back to injury. This time, it’s Aaron Jones who needs to be replaced after the 2017 fifth-round pick suffered an MCL injury that will put him out of commission for 3-6 weeks. The Packers come into the week ranked 19th in the league in rushing yards per game (105.4), and will look to exploit a Baltimore defence allowing the fifth-most yards on the ground per contest (125.9).
