Two of the most surprising teams in the NFC square off Sunday afternoon as the North-leading Minnesota Vikings entertain the Rams, who own top spot in the West. Both teams are riding lengthy winning streak, with the Vikings having reeled off five straight victories and the Rams winners of four in a row. Choosing which team covers the spread in this one could be difficult, with both teams boasting impressive 6-3 ATS marks coming into the weekend.

Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Vikings get a slight edge here by virtue of home-field advantage, but the Rams have been the superior team this season – at least from a numbers perspective. Los Angeles leads the NFL in scoring with 296 points, and has given up the fewest points in the conference (162). But the Rams have not often followed up on strong offensive games, having covered just twice in their last 10 games after racking up more than 350 total yards in their previous contests.

That said, Sports Interaction bettors are squarely in the visitors’ corner, choosing the underdogs at a 72-percent clip. A whopping 89 percent of participants like the over-46-point totals play, which makes sense given the Rams’ offensive prowess. But the Vikings have gone below the total in 19 of their last 26 games against teams with winning records, while the Rams are 3-9 O/U in their previous 12 outings vs. teams above .500.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams have failed to cover the spread in four straight meetings with the Vikings – but this isn’t that same Los Angeles team. Behind an MVP-calibre performance from quarterback Jared Goff, Los Angeles has gone over the total in four consecutive road games and six of its previous eight games against NFC opponents. Look for the Vikings to key in on running back Todd Gurley, who has 974 total yards and eight touchdowns in the Rams’ seven victories.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings appear ready to give quarterback Teddy Bridgewater his first game action since suffering a devastating knee injury during 2016 training camp. But that work might not come in the next week or two, with backup Case Keenum playing like a guy who deserves to keep the No. 1 job. Keenum has eight touchdown passes against five interceptions over the course of the Vikings’ win streak, during which they have gone 4-1 ATS and 3-2 O/U.
