Raiders vs. Colts Point Spread: NFL Predictions, Week 4 Odds
The Indianapolis Colts are touchdown favourites at home on Sunday against the defensively-challenged Oakland Raiders. Can the Colts expose the Raiders’ leaky stopper-unit if wideout T.Y. Hilton is unavailable to play?
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Raiders are 0-2 straight up and against the spread (ATS) since their Week 1 victory against division rival Denver. Oakland has been outscored 62-24 and outgained 852-609 in yards over the last two weeks. Not great, Bob.
Indy was outscored 21-7 in the second half on Sunday but still won and covered against the Atlanta Falcons. The Colts are now 2-1 straight up and 2-0-1 against the number after their first three games.
Indianapolis is 32-15-1 ATS in its last 48 games against teams with losing records. The club is also 4-1-1 ATS in its last six games overall.
Meanwhile Jon Gruden’s group is 5-15-1 ATS in its last 21 away dates and 10-21-2 against the number in its last 33 contests.
There hasn’t been much movement on the spread as we enter the middle of the week. Sports Interaction opened with the Colts giving 7 points. The number briefly dipped to -6.5 before moving back to the touchdown spread.
Same story when it comes to the total. The over/under line has moved up a half point from 44.5 to 45. Nearly 75 percent of bettors are backing the game to go over the 45-point total while 82 percent expect the Colts to cover as 7-point favourites.
Oakland Raiders
The Raiders lost three linebackers during last weekend’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The Purple People Eaters got up 21-0 and never seemed threatened. Minnesota didn’t attempt a pass in the fourth quarter.
There are concerns on the other side of the ball. Oakland is -2 in the turnover department in the last two weeks, but it could be even worse. The team has recovered all four of its fumbles in the last two games. That’s a coin flip play that’s gone the Raiders’ way four straight times.
Indianapolis Colts
He’s nowhere near leading the league in passing yards, but Jacoby Brissett is playing better than the Colts could have hoped when he took over the starting job from newly retired Andrew Luck.
Brissett is completing 71.7 percent of his passes with seven TD passes to one interception, and he owns a tidy 112.0 QB rating through three games.
He might be missing his best receiving option on Sunday. T.Y. Hilton is questionable to play in Week 4 after sitting out the second half against Atlanta due to an injury.
