New England’s yearly march to the AFC East division title and a bye in the first round of the playoffs is going according to script. The Patriots visit Tennessee as large favourites in Week 10 against Marcus Mariota and the Titans.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Patriots continue their assault on bettors who fade the two-time defending AFC champions. They’re 5-1 against the spread in their last six games and 6-3 ATS on the season. Bill Belichick’s boys are 34-7 straight up and 30-11 against the number in regular season games dating back to 2016.

New England is coming off a 31-17 home win against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers as a 5-point favourite. The Pats last played the Titans in last year’s playoffs. They easily took down Tennessee 35-14 as 13.5-point home chalk.

The Titans are coming off a 28-14 win over the Dallas Cowboys at Jerry’s World as 4.5-point underdogs. Tennessee is 2-1 ATS at home this season and 5-1 ATS in its last six contests on its home field.

More than 95 percent of bettors are backing the Pats to cover as 6.5-point faves. New England is No. 2 to win the  Super Bowl at +475 behind only the Los Angeles Rams at +350.

New England Patriots

The Pats keep rolling despite numerous injuries at key positions. Four-time All-Pro Rob Gronkowski is questionable to play against the Titans because of back and ankle injuries. The tight end sat out the game against the Packers and hasn’t caught a touchdown pass since Week 1 against the Houston Texans.

There is some good news on the injury front for New England backers. Rookie running back Sony Michel ran for 316 yards and four touchdowns over a three-week stretch but hasn’t played since Week 7 against the Chicago Bears. He’s expected to make his return to the starting lineup this weekend.

Tennessee Titans

It’s somewhat incredible that the Titans own a 4-4 record after their first eight games this season. The club is among the worst offensive teams in the NFL and they’re tied for second last in offensive touchdowns per game at 1.5.

While offensive passing records are being broken across the league, Marcus Mariota has just five touchdown passes in seven starts this season. To put it another way, the former Oregon Duck is averaging a touchdown pass once every 35.8 pass attempts.
