Another week, another giant spread for New England backers to consider on the NFL betting board. The Washington Redskins are winless and aren’t sure who’ll they put under centre on Sunday.

Once again, the Patriots find themselves as the biggest favourite of the week. The Pats are giving more than 14 points for the third time this season. They covered as 18-point chalk in Week 2 against Miami, but failed to turn the trick against the Jets in Week 3 as 20.5-point faves.

The bigger line movement happened on the total. Bookmakers opened the Over/Under line at 46 and the number dropped to 42.5 by midweek. About 71 percent of bettors are backing the Over in this contest.
The Patriots are 20-9 against the spread in their last 29 road games, and 42-19 ATS in their last 61 overall. Washington is 1-4 against the number in its last five games, and 0-4 ATS in its last four home contests.
New England remain the overwhelming favourite to win the Super Bowl at Sports Interaction. The sportsbook lists the Pats at +138 to lift the Lombardi Trophy in February. That means a $100 bet on New England would win $138 if Brady and Belichick nabbed another ring.
New England Patriots
There isn’t much in terms of bad news for the Pats this season. Sure the Antonio Brown situation was a bit of a distraction, but it didn’t seem to slow the group down at all.
But this week the Pats learned they’d have to find a new kicker for the year. Stephen Gostkowski is out for the season after undergoing hip surgery. He’s the team’s all-time leader in points and made field goals. He had missed four extra point attempts in just four games this season.
No word yet on who will be handling field goal kicks this weekend for the Pats.
Washington Redskins
It’s only Week 5 and Washington fans could see a third different quarterback under centre this weekend. Veteran backup Colt McCoy is expected to get the nod on Sunday after rookie Dwayne Haskins failed to impress in relief of Case Keenum last weekend.
