Patriots vs. Bills Point Spread: NFL Week 8 Odds, Prediction

The New England Patriots were just steam rolled in Week 7 when the San Francisco 49ers handed them their third straight loss. They will now visit the Buffalo Bills, who have also hit a bit of a rough patch but are 5-2 on the year.

NFL Week 8 Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The under is 5-1 in the Patriots last six games played in November and 4-1 in their last five games in Week 8. The under is also 20-7 in their past 27 games when coming off of a straight up loss. New England is 8-0 ATS in their last eight games in Week 8 and 27-7 ATS in their last 34 games when totaling less than 250 total yards in the game prior.

The over has been 4-0-1 in the Bills last five games coming off of a straight up win and 5-1 in their past six games in Week 8. Buffalo is also 4-0 ATS in their past four games when coming in as the home favorite and 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven games in November.

New England Patriots

New England has not played up to their standards as of late, dropping their last three games. After being labeled as Super Bowl contenders a few weeks in, some are now calling for them to blow up the team and tank for a better draft selection. Quarterback Cam Newton has played terribly since his return from the COVID list. That was especially true in their last game against the 49ers where he only threw for 98 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions. He was even benched in favor of Jarrett Stidham, who came in and threw an interception on only ten attempts. This team just doesn’t have enough weapons on their offense to make them a threat, which puts a lot of pressure on their defense. It’s hard to see how things get better for them in the immediate future.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills have been a mixed bag of late. They started off the season with multiple solid performances that had quarterback Josh Allen in the MVP conversation. They have struggled in their last few games, including last Sunday when they trailed 10-0 early to the winless New York Jets and finished the game without a touchdown. While they consistently got themselves into field goal position, they were only able to muster six field goals. It’s a big surprise as this offense was rolling through the first four games. Allen had 12 touchdown passes and just two interceptions in that span. He has just four touchdowns and three interceptions in his last three games.

The Patriots have won four straight in this series and 21 of the last 28 meetings in New England. If the Bills really want to show that they’re the top dog in this division, they have to take care of business in this spot.
