Packers vs. Chiefs Point Spread: NFL Week 9 Odds, Prediction
The Green Bay Packers are 7-1 on the year but have been bitten by the COVID-19 bug. They had to survive without start wideout Davante Adams last Thursday and now they’ll have to get by without Aaron Rodgers on Sunday. Do they stand a chance on the road in Kansas City or are the Packers sunk without their star quarterback?
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Packers are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games overall and 6-0 ATS in their past six games when coming off an ATS win in the previous matchup. Oddly enough, Green Bay has struggled when playing in Week 9, though, sitting at just 1-6 ATS in their last seven matchups during this specific week. The over has been great for them when listed as the underdog, cashing out in five of their last six games under those circumstances.
On the other hand, the Chiefs are just 4-15 ATS in their last 19 games overall and 4-10 ATS in their past 14 when coming into the matchup with an ATS loss in their previous game.
Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers and this Packers team just knocked off the only undefeated team left in the league without his top three wide receivers on the road. It doesn’t get much more impressive than that but it will have to if they expect to win this Sunday.
The Packers have long wondered what the team would look like with Jordan Love under center and now they’ll find out. Is the young buck ready?
Green Bay does have some extra time to prepare as they played on Thursday Night while the Chiefs are on a short week after playing on Monday. This offense was a little underwhelming last week but that was because of how many starters were out. The defense will again have to lead the way. Green Bay has not allowed a single opponent over the 22-point mark in five games now. Another performance like that will go a long way for them.
Kansas City Chiefs
Despite the recent victory, things aren’t looking up for the Chiefs right now. They were able to squeak out a win but it still wasn’t enough to cover their 3.5-point spread. They were even behind by three points in the fourth quarter to the Saquon Barkley-less New York Giants. This team also has a turnover issue with Patrick Mahomes throwing another interception and Travis Kelce coughing the ball up later in the game. The turnovers have been the biggest issue all year and regardless of how much talent they have on the roster, it’s apparent that they just don’t seem ready to play sometimes. They simply have to stop being so sloppy with the football.
