The season from hell continues for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they welcome the surprisingly frisky New York Jets to Raymond James Stadium. The Bucs hope to taste a win without starting quarterback Jameis Winston.

Point Spread and Betting Analysis

If you had told most bettors before the season the New York Jets would be 2.5-point favourites on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, you would have been laughed off the group text.

The Bucs were coming off a 9-7 season and many thought they were a sleeper contender to win the NFC. The Jets, on the other hand, were being talked about as one of the worst teams in NFL history and many people wondered if the team would even win a game in the 2017 season.

Tampa Bay enters Week 10 with the worst against the spread record in the NFL at 1-6-1 and is dead last in the NFC South division. The Bucs at +10,000 to win the division now on the NFL odds board.

The Jets soar into Tampa Bay coming off their fourth win of the season and their sixth cover in its last seven games.

New York Jets

Gang Green took care of business on Thursday Night Football and notched their most impressive win of the season against a hated division rival. Running back Matt Forte had his best game in 2017 with 77 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. The outburst came just days after he complained to reporters about a lack of touches in the team’s offense.

Quarterback Josh McCown completed 70 percent of his passes and has thrown just one interception compared to six TDs in his last three games.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It went south in a hurry for the Bucs. Quarterback Jameis Winston made headlines over the weekend but not for good reasons. It started with his bizarre pregame speech aimed at firing up his teammates but left most of them visibly confused.

Winston was removed from the game because of a sore shoulder and started taunting New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore after a rare Bucs first down. Lattimore started jawing back and then Bucs receiver ran into the picture and plowed into Lattimore’s blindside.

The NFL handed Evans a one-game suspension for his hit on Lattimore, but Evans plans on appealing. Bettors should find out late in the week if Evans’ appeal will allow him to suit up on Sunday against the Jets.

Winston is expected to be out the next two to three games to rest his ailing shoulder. Ryan Fitzpatrick will make the start under centre for the Bucs against the Jets.
