Jaguars vs. Colts Point Spread: NFL Week 10 Odds, Prediction
The Jacksonville Jaguars stunned the Buffalo Bills last week, winning outright as a 14-point underdog. They somehow knocked off a team that is a legitimate Super Bowl contender right now. The win was only their second of the season and was led by a stifling defense, which was blown out by the Geno Smith-led Seattle Seahawks in their previous game. Now they’ll face a surging Indianapolis Colts team had themselves quite the week also, romping the New York Jets 45-30 in a game that was far worse than the score suggests. Can the Jags keep their momentum going or will the Colts take care of business?
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Despite some horrible seasons the last few years, Jacksonville continues to be great against the spread during the month of November. They are 4-1 ATS in their last five games played during the month. They are also 12-5-1 ATS in their past 18 games played during Week 10. As you could expect with a mediocre offense, the under has cashed out in seven of their last eight games when coming into the game as the underdog in the matchup.
Meanwhile, the over has been consistent for the Colts, cashing out in their last four games in November and five of their last six overall. Indianapolis has also fared nicely against teams with losing records against the spread, with a 4-0 ATS record under those circumstances. This team is also 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall heading into this one.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Josh Allen is a stud on the defensive side of the football. He was all over the place last week, attacking the better-known Josh Allen of the Bills. Jacksonville’s linebacker had a sack, an interception and a fumble recovery in that game and will need to continue that effectiveness against a good Colts team. Carson Wentz is less mobile and could be a sitting duck.
The Jaguars also could be getting James Robinson back from his heel injury that forced him to miss last game, though it could come at the cost of Trevor Lawrence. The rookie first overall draft pick suffered an ankle injury late in their win over Buffalo and is currently questionable for this game. He did return late in the game, so it’s likely that he suits up.
This Jags team has now won two of three and might be turning a corner. We’ll see if they can keep it going in Week 10.
Indianapolis Colts
Jonathan Taylor is officially the heart and soul of this offense right now. Not only is he second in the league in rushing yards, trailing only the injured Derrick Henry, but he is coming off a monster game. He ran for 172 yards and two touchdowns on just 19 carries against the Jets, proving that he is without a doubt the best back on this team. Carson Wentz had himself an easy day thanks to the running game and wasn’t forced to make much of an impact.
Indianapolis has been turning up the heat lately and being a lot more competitive after a very slow start to their season. They started 0-3 but have won four of six and really, it should probably be five of six had they not blown a huge lead in Baltimore. This team is on the rise and should cruise to a win here.
