Jaguars vs. Bengals Point Spread: NFL Week 7 Odds, Prediction
The Jacksonville Jaguars traded away one of the faces of their franchise, but that shouldn’t negatively impact them when they visit Cincinnati to take on the 0-6 Bengals.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Jacksonville enters this matchup against Cincy as a 3.5-point road favourite despite scoring just six points last weekend against the New Orleans Saints. The Jaguars are 2-4 straight up (3-3 against the spread) and tied for last place in the AFC South.
The Bengals are winless and coming off a 23-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Cincinnati covered the spread as a 10.5-point underdog but was massively outgained on the ground by Lamar Jackson and Co.
The club is 1-7 ATS in its last eight games at home while the Jags are 5-11-2 ATS in their last 18 games overall. Both teams are in the bottom 10 of the NFL in points scored per game and the Under is 3-1 in the Bengals’ last four games.
Sports Interaction opened the spread for this game with the Jags favoured by four points. The line moved down to 3 before going back up a half a point to Jags -3.5. Nearly 80 percent of SIA players are backing Jacksonville to cover as 3.5-point road favourites.
The total sits at 43.5 after dropping two points from the opening number (45.5). Even with the line move, about 60 percent of Sports Interaction bettors are siding with the Under.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville moved on from uber talented cornerback Jalen Ramsey. The Jags shipped him to the Los Angeles Rams for two future first round draft picks as well as a fourth rounder.
That’s quite a haul for a defensive player who hadn’t played since Week 3 and was becoming a distraction because of the ongoing trade rumours. Ramsey is arguably one of the best defensive backs in the NFL, but he wasn’t going to get Jacksonville back to its 2017 level again.
Cincinnati Bengals
Don’t let the 17 points against Baltimore fool you: the Bengals are having major offensive difficulties. Cincy jumped out to a 7-0 lead thanks to a TD scored on the opening kickoff. The Bengals have failed to score an offensive touched in six of their last eight quarters of football.
Running back Joe Mixon had a particularly ugly day against Baltimore. He ran for 10 yards on eight carries.
