Both sides have struggled despite their ability to move the football, with the Falcons and Cardinals having combined for just two victories in nine games so far this season. But with this game carrying the second-highest total of the week, there should be plenty of action both on the main plays and on the player props.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Cardinals come in as slight underdogs despite having home-field advantage – and it isn’t hard to see why, with Arizona having covered just one of its previous six games at State Farm Stadium. But the Falcons haven’t exactly been a gleaming cover option, either: they’re a dismal 5-16 ATS in their previous 21 games away from Atlanta and have covered just twice in their past 10 games against teams with sub-.500 records.

With the total for this one sitting at 52, you can be sure there will be lively action on both sides. And Under bettors will appreciate knowing that the Cardinals have finished below the Vegas total in 22 of their past 31 home games – though the overwhelming majority of those took place before Kyler Murray and Kliff Kingsbury came to town. The Falcons are 14-6-1 O/U in their past 21 games against teams with losing records.

Atlanta Falcons

Despite having two of the league’s most talented offensive players in Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, the Falcons’ offence has been stuck in neutral for most of the season, producing an average of just 20.4 points through the opening five games. Combined with a defence that is surrendering in excess of 30 points per contest, you can see why the Falcons come into this one with identical 1-4 SU and ATS records on the season.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals will be delighted to return home with a victory after upending the host Cincinnati Bengals 26-23 last time out. But while it was a breakout performance for Murray, it also featured a much-needed solid showing from an Arizona defence that had allowed 65 points in back-to-back home losses to Carolina and Seattle prior to the trip to Ohio. But bettors beware: Arizona is just 4-13-2 ATS in its last 19 games following a straight-up victory.
