Eagles vs. Vikings Point Spread: NFL Predictions, Week 6 Odds

Minnesota’s record improved to 3-2 after Sunday’s convincing win against the New York Giants, but they have a real test this weekend when they face another 3-2 team, the Philadelphia Eagles, in a h0me game they’ll hope to win to climb up their division.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Vikings are 2-0 at home this season, which is why they are priced as 3-point favorites. The Vikes are 11-3 ATS in their last 14 at home when playing a team with a winning record. This is not an easy conference, with 11 teams boasting a winning record. The NFC North is also one of the most challenging divisions, with all three clubs posting winning records so far this season, with Green Bay at 4-1, Detroit at 2-0-1 and Minnesota and Chicago at 3-2.

For the Eagles, this game marks the beginning of a tough road trip with visits to the Bears and the Bills coming up. They’ll need to step up the offence to get wins along this stretch.

Philadelphia Eagles

Last week’s game against the Jets was a blowout, but it wasn’t necessarily the kind of win that the Eagles should be thrilled about. Without the defense, the final score would not have been 31-6. Philly got two defensive touchdowns and got 10 sacks. Those two stats set a record for the first team in league history to do both in one game. That incredible defense held the Jets to just 128 yards. Truly a defensive master class.

It was a good thing too, since Carson Wentz did not look sharp. He threw for just 189 yards, and the running game only notched 84 yards. Not a great look for the offence, who’ll need to get things going for the next few weeks when they face far more complete teams than the New York Jets.

Philadelphia are coming into Sunday tied with the Cowboys for first in the NFC East. The Cowboys are 2-0 in their division, whereas Philly is 1-0 in theirs.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings needed to amp up the passing game, and it looks like Kirk Cousins is starting to do it, as he did last week against the Giants. He went 19-for-23 for 278 yards and a touchdown in the first half of the game. His favorite target? Adam Thielen, who had 130 receiving yards. Also effective was the run game. Dalvin Cook ran for 132 yards on 21 carries, out of a total of 211 rushing yards. This was Cook’s fourth 100-yard game in 2019, and he now ranks second in the league.

That win put the Vikings’ record at 3-2 on the year, but in the super tough NFC North they’re still 0-2.
