This game is definitely one of the better matchups this week, and you can tell that just by looking at the point spread. Oddsmakers think these two teams are well-matched and have given them one of the lowest point spreads of the entire week.

The Eagles want a win here to get the bad taste of a 37-10 beatdown courtesy of the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday out of their mouths. The Bills are coming off a win, but does a win against the Dolphins even count this season?

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Bills are a 2.5-point home favorites against the Eagles, with an over/under of 43.

No one could have predicted, that at Week 8, we’d be saying that the Bills were having the far superior season to the Philadelphia Eagles, but here we are. In fact, only the Patriots have a better win percentage in the AFC. Buffalo is now 5-1, with their only loss coming at the hands of, you guessed it, New England. To the Bills’ credit, they didn’t make it easy for Tom Brady and company, holding the Pats to just 16 points in a 16-10 loss.

The Eagles are at 3-4, but have played tougher games than the Bills. One of their most glaring issues is a spotty defense which has allowed an average of 31.5 points in each loss.

Philadelphia has the slight edge in all time regular season games against Buffalo, with a 7-6 record. The last time they faced each other was in December of 2015. The Eagles took that one 23-20.

Philadelphia Eagles

Things aren’t looking too pretty for the Eagles lately. They’ve been absolutely decimated in their last two – both road games.

Two weeks ago Philly was in Minnesota, where they lost 38-20 and looked messy doing it. Things got even worse in Week 7. Expectations were that they could easily handle the struggling Cowboys, but it was the complete opposite outcome. Sunday Night Football was a nightmare for Eagles fans, as they watched their team lose 37-10 and drop to second place in the division. The defence hasn’t been great, but neither has Carson Wentz, who’s become inconsistent at best. Wentz won’t have it easy on Sunday against the Bills defense.

Before this season started, many thought that the Eagles would be potential Super Bowl contenders. If they don’t make some big changes, they may not even make the postseason.

Buffalo Bills

For all the 5-1 buzz that the Buffalo Bills are generating, it’s important to remember that every single one of those wins have come against teams that are below .500. Josh Allen has shown flashes but he’s also thrown as many interceptions as he has passing touchdowns.

The Eagles will be the second toughest challenge that this Bills team has faced this season, the first was the New England Patriots. Buffalo has yet to beat a team whose QB has won at least two games, and Carson Wentz has won three games.
