Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright

Two teams that might have been NFC contenders a few years ago have now fallen on hard times. The Cowboys and their once-electric offence have shriveled up while the Seahawks and their once-dominant defence have collapsed.

As we enter Week 3, the two teams have just one win combined. For the Seahawks, this game presents their home-opener and at 0-2, they can ill-afford to drop a third straight game to open the season.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Cowboys are 10-6-1 ATS and 12-5 SU in their last 17 road games. However, they are just 2-2 ATS and SU as a road dog of three or less. The Cowboys are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games against a home team with a losing record.

On the flip side, the Seahawks are 18-15-3 ATS and 26-10 SU in their last 36 times being a home favorite of three or less. However, the Seahawks are just 1-5 ATS in their last six home games overall.

Dallas Cowboys

It hasn’t been pretty for the Cowboys so far this season. They have scored a total of 28 points through two games with 20 of them coming in Week 2 against the New York Giants. Quarterback Dak Prescott has been squarely in the media crosshairs as he’s passed for just 330 yards in total with just one touchdown and no interceptions. The Cowboys had hoped that a number of offseason changes would get their passing game going but it has struggled. In terms of running the ball, they haven’t had much success there either as Ezekiel Elliott has just 147 yards through two games.

The good news is that the Seahawks defence has been below average this season. They’ve allowed 24 points to a Mitchell Trubisky-led offence and 27 to the Case Keenum-led Denver Broncos. This might be the exact match up the Cowboys offence needs to get going.

Seattle Seahawks

While much has been made of the Seahawks early-season struggles, it’s worth noting one thing: both of their two games have been on the road. This game is at home. As we all know, the Seahawks are a completely different team when playing at home. More importantly, they should be getting healthier for this game – especially at linebacker where Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright are expecting to play.

On offence, the Seahawks offensive line has been terrible but they should get a reprieve facing the Cowboys. Dallas registered no sacks against the New York Giants last week, so Seattle should be able to give Wilson time to make decisions. If he has time and they can run the ball a little, that should be all they need to get to 17 or 20 points and win the game.
