The Kansas City Chiefs are one cover away from tying the 2008 New England Patriots with the longest ATS win streak to open a season.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Chiefs opened as 10-point home favourites at Sports Interaction for this AFC West divisional game. The Broncos are 0-6 straight up and against the spread in their last six meetings with the Chiefs including a 27-24 loss at Denver in Week 4.

Kansas City has covered the spread in every game this season and the club is 17-6 ATS in its last 23 regular season contests. About 88 percent of Sports Interaction bettors are backing KC to cover the double-digit spread this weekend against Denver.

The total is set at 55 points which is the second-highest Over/Under line on the Week 8 NFL betting board and behind only the Rams-Packers number at 56. The Over is just 4-3 in KC games this year despite the huge scoring figures being produced by Patrick Mahomes and crew. Nearly 75 percent of bettors still expect this contest to go Over 55 points.

Kansas City’s hot start hasn’t gone unnoticed by the sportsbooks. Besides the growing spreads, the Chiefs’ odds to win the Super Bowl are all the way down to +600 at Sports Interaction. This means a $100 bet on the Chiefs to lift the Lombardi Trophy would pay $600. Only the Los Angeles Rams (+300) and the New England Patriots (+550) have shorter odds to win the Super Bowl.

Denver Broncos

Week 7 was filled with blowout results and Denver was on the right side of one of those last Sunday. The Broncos shot down the Arizona Cardinals 45-10 thanks in large part to two interceptions returned for touchdowns.

It was a bounce-back performance from head coach Vance Joseph’s normally stout defence. It was only a few weeks ago the New York Jets totaled 503 total yards of offence against Denver.

Emmanuel Sanders is unquestionably the top offensive playmaker for the Broncos. The wide receiver leads his team with 46 catches, 603 receiving yards and three TD grabs. Sanders even got into the passing game last weekend against the Cards. He threw a 28-yard TD strike in the first quarter to put the Broncos up 14-0.

Kansas City Chiefs

As good as KC has been with possession of the football, the squad has been somewhat lucky on defence. The Chiefs are 22nd in points allowed per game (26 PPG) even though they own the worst total defence in the NFL. No team allows more offensive yards per game than the Chiefs at 435.4 per contest.
