Bengals vs. Raiders Point Spread: NFL Predictions, Week 11 Odds
The Oakland Raiders are coming off a crucial 26-24 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football last week to improve to 5-4. After 11 days between games, they now have an excellent opportunity to extend their winning streak to three in a row against the lowly Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati has yet to win a game and continues to get embarrassed on a weekly basis. The Raiders – for one of the few times this season – are now expected to win. Can they deliver as a sizable favorite?
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Bengals are 0-9 straight up and 3-6 against the spread this season (ATS), with the under going 6-3 in their first nine games. Despite their terrible record, Cincinnati has actually been a competitive team on the road. The Bengals have lost 10 straight as the visiting team but they are 7-3 against the spread in those contests. Over the past 10 years, Cincinnati is a perfect 8-0 ATS in games placed in the Pacific Time Zone.
Meanwhile, Oakland is 6-3 against the spread this season, which is tied for the second-best mark in the NFL. The Raiders are 6-1 both straight up and against the spread in their last seven home games. The over is 6-3 in Raiders games this season.
Cincinnati Bengals
The first game of the Ryan Finley era didn’t exactly go as planned for the Bengals. The rookie fourth-round pick went 16-of-30 for 167 yards with a touchdown and a pick-six. He was sacked twice and was mostly running for his life. While Finley clearly doesn’t look ready for the starting job, Cincinnati needs to see what it has in him heading into the offseason. At the very least, Finley could get an important weapon back with A.J. Green potentially set to make his season debut this Sunday now that he is finally healthy.
Regardless of what the offense does, it isn’t like the Bengals defense has been able to slow many opponents down. Last week’s loss marked the second time that Cincinnati had given up 40+ points this season. The Bengals have given up an average of 28.8 points per game – the second-worst mark in the AFC.
Oakland Raiders
Derek Carr and the Raiders will be motivated to put up some big numbers against Cincinnati at home this Sunday as they’re just a half-game (one win) out of a tie for first place in the AFC West. Oakland has averaged 28.5 points per game in back-to-back wins over the Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions. Carr has been outstanding this season, completing 70.8-percent of his pass attempts for 2,202 yards and 14 touchdowns with just four interceptions. Meanwhile, rookie running back Josh Jacobs has been a beast with 811 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.
The Raiders play well when Jacobs is running well as it gives the offense balance and keeps the pressure off of Carr. Lucky for him he’ll be going up against the league’s worst run defense as the Bengals allow a whopping 173.0 rushing yards per game. That should pave the way to a comfortable Raiders win.
