Entering this game the 49ers have won four out of the last five games against the Packers dating back to the 2012 season. But they have not played well in Green Bay against the spread, as they are 1-4-1 in the last six games over that time.

San Francisco 49ers

Since entering the starting quarterback position CJ Beathard has played decent at times, throwing for 647 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions in two games, but both games were losses. In the most recent loss to the Cardinals, the 49ers ran a record 92 offensive plays, and recorded 33 first downs, but still lost 28-18. The Niners fumbled the ball four times (losing three of them), and were picked off two times; just too many mistakes.

Now, it appears Beathard has lost his number one offensive weapon in running back Matt Brieda. He’s currently listed as doubtful with a sprained ankle, and there are some thoughts that it actually could be worse. In his place, Alfred Morris is likely to start, with Raheem Mostert as backup. With those two in place, it will be tough for the team to keep pace with their 136.2 yards per game rushing average, which is currently ranked fourth in the NFL.

Green Bay Packers

When the Packers watched game tape of last week’s Cardinals win over the 49ers, they may have gotten a little excited at what rookie Josh Rosen did against them. In only his second professional start, Rosen helped put of 21 of the 28 points scored against the 49ers, so imagine what Aaron Rodgers might be able to do? The 49ers defence has allowed an average of 348.4 yards against through five games this season.

Speaking off Aaron Rodgers, to say he’s been brilliant against the NFC West is a bit of an understatement. In 19 games against the division, he has 14 wins, and a passer rating of 105.1 since the 2008 season, which is number one in the NFL vs. a division.

Keep an eye on Safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, as he’s recorded three interceptions and a sack over the past four games. A surprising note, despite going one of five on field goal attempts, and missing his only extra-point try in a loss to the Detroit Lions last week, the Packers say they still have confidence in kicker Mason Crosby.
