It’s the first time a national TV NFL audience will get a look at Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, the Heisman Trophy winner last year at Oklahoma and the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He has largely lived up to the hype and is the clear NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year favourite halfway through the season. This is also the first year in the league for head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who was mediocre at best at Texas Tech but is doing a nice job with Arizona. The Cardinals appear on the right track after winning just three games in 2018.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Arizona has dominated the 49ers the past few years, sweeping each of the past four season series and winning the past five at home. Yes, two of the Cards’ three wins in 2018 were vs. the 49ers. The game in the desert finished 18-15. Josh Rosen, now with the Dolphins, had very few highlights as a rookie, but he threw two touchdown passes in that one, including the game-winner to Christian Kirk from 9 yards out with 34 seconds remaining.

That game was hard to watch for three quarters with the Niners leading 12-3 entering the fourth. San Francisco starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was out for the season injured by then and CJ Beathard didn’t do much in the loss. He’s now third-string. The 49ers also lost at home 28-18, and Rosen and Beathard were the QBs that day as well.

The road team is 5-1 ATS in the past six meetings. The under is 4-1 in the previous five.

San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco remained the NFC’s lone unbeaten team with easily its best effort of the season on Sunday, a 51-13 home wipeout of a pretty good Carolina Panthers team. Tevin Coleman rushed for 105 yards and three scores and the Niners had 232 yards and five touchdowns on the ground overall. Garoppolo threw for 175 yards and two scores.

Nick Bosa had three sacks and an interception, and he’s the clear favourite to win NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. He became the third rookie since 1982, when the individual sack became an official statistic, to have at least three sacks and an interception in a single game. The Niners are 7-0 for the first time since 1990. They are 1-4 ATS in their past five NFC West games.

Arizona Cardinals

Arizona had a three-game winning streak snapped Sunday in a 31-9 loss at New Orleans. Murray threw for 220 yards but didn’t find the end zone. Top running back David Johnson missed the game with an ankle injury and the team is obviously a bit concerned about that and the hamstring injury suffered by backup Chase Edmonds because on Monday it acquired running back Kenyan Drake in trade from the Dolphins. Arizona is 2-5 ATS in its past seven at home.
