The Washington Wizards are off to a fast start this season, winning their first two games – including a big 135-134 victory over the Indiana Pacers. The same can’t be said about the Brooklyn Nets, who have dropped two of their first three games – including a big 16-point loss to the Charlotte Hornets. Can the Wizards stay perfect, or will the Nets put them in the loss column for the first time this year?

Brooklyn is favoured to win on the NBA odds.

Wizards vs. Nets NBA Betting Odds

Washington is 13-6-1 against the spread in their last 20 games dating back to last year and surprisingly, 6-1 ATS in their past seven matchups against the Nets. However, the Wizards are just 1-6 straight up in their last seven games when playing on the road.

As for Brooklyn, they are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games played at home and 5-2 SU in their past seven when playing at home against the Wizards. The under has been good for the Nets, cashing out in nine of their last 11 games against Eastern Conference opponents.

Washington Wizards

Washington’s new-look offence has performed very well so far. Spencer Dinwiddie is fitting right in with his new team, dropping 34 points, six rebounds and nine assists for the team a few nights ago. This game will mark a return to Brooklyn, the team he used to play for. He’ll be motivated to show out to a team that felt he was expendable.

Kyle Kuzma has also been efficient in his own way, dropping 26 in their last game. The Wizards, as a team, are averaging 116.5 points per game while making 50 per cent of their three-point attempts. Defence wasn’t really great in their last game against the Pacers, which is something they will need in this game if they want to beat a stellar offensive team in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets are still without their superstar point guard Kyrie Irving as he continues to battle with the state over not receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Still, this is a group that has Kevin Durant and James Harden out on the floor. Durant dropped 38 in the team’s last game while Harden had 15 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. LaMarcus Aldridge even came close to a double-double.

This team has been really hot and cold, as they were blown out in their two losses, yet they went on the road and beat the Philadelphia 76ers. Their defence has been nonexistent and without Irving, they can’t seem to outscore everyone at will. If they don’t improve soon on defence, they won’t look like the team everyone expects to be a championship contender.
