Superstar guard Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers make their only visit of the season to Toronto on Sunday. Portland is a 2.5-point favourite on the NBA odds.

Trail Blazers vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

Portland had made the playoffs eight straight seasons entering the 2021-22 campaign but crashed and burned to a 27-55 record under first-year coach Chauncey Billups. There was talk of a rebuild and trading All-Star guard Damian Lillard, but instead he signed a two-year, $122 million (US) extension this summer that will keep Lillard in a Trail Blazers uniform (barring trade) through the 2025-26 NBA season, and it includes a player option for the ’26-27 campaign.

The Blazers still aren’t close to title contention, but they could return to the postseason, although it might have to be the play-in tournament because the Western Conference is so deep. Portland swept the two games against Toronto last season with Jerami Grant averaging 25.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in them. In 18 career games against the Raptors, Lillard has scored at least 20 points 15 times.

Portland is on a five-game winning streak in the series, leads 33-18 all-time and 16-10 in Toronto. The Blazers are 4-1 ATS in the past five meetings.

Portland Trail Blazers

Portland looks to avoid a three-game winless road trip as it comes off a 108-99 loss at Indiana on Friday despite leading by five early in the fourth. The Pacers ended the game on a 15-2 run. Portland had a 52-42 rebounding advantage but 18 turnovers. The Blazers were 9-for-33 from deep after entering the game tied for the NBA’s third-best three-point shooting percentage. Anfernee Simons led the team with 20 points, Damian Lillard had 19 (7-for-24 shooting), and Josh Hart 12 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, just shy of his first career triple-double. The Blazers have three players averaging at least 20 points in Lillard (27.1), Simons (22.4) and Jerami Grant (22.3), but defence can be a problem. The team has never had three 20-point scorers in a full season. Portland is 0-6 ATS in its past six on the road.

Toronto Raptors

Toronto lost its third in a row Friday, 112-108 at home to the Knicks as New York snapped an 11-game road losing streak in the series. Its previous win in Toronto was 111-109 on Nov. 10, 2015. Fred VanVleet scored 28 points, and Gary Trent Jr. had 27 for the Raptors, who have lost seven of its past eight at home and 11 of 14 overall. Trent is averaging 26.0 points in a six-game stretch in which he has scored at least 20 points in each (career-high streak). The Raptors held a 19-3 advantage in fast-break points (and are second in the NBA in fast-break points per game at 18.1) but were outscored by 18 behind the three-point arc. Toronto is 1-7 ATS in its past eight at home.
