Home court has been of huge importance for the Milwaukee Bucks and it’s just what they need after dropping two straight road games. The Bucks are 7-2 at home in 2020–21 and will host the Portland Trail Blazers Monday, Portland’s third game of a season-long seven-game road trip.

In their 19 games either Giannis Antetokounmpo or Kris Middleton has led the 11-8 Bucks in scoring, while either Damian Lillard or C.J. McCollum has done the same during the 10-8 Trail Blazers’ 18 games. The Bucks and Lillard meet Monday for the lone time in the 2020–21 regular season.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Milwaukee’s enjoyed hosting Portland over the years, winning their last six games against the Trail Blazers in Wisconsin. Portland’s also covered in just five of their last 18 games against Milwaukee, the latter opening as 10-point home favourite on the NBA odds. The total is 235.

Both teams rank in the top five in points per game, Milwaukee second with 119.8 and Portland fifth with 115. Some quick addition equals 234.8 points combined, and voilà… there’s your total.

Even without an injured McCollum over their last five games, Portland’s managed to score 112.6 points per game but have a 2-3 record to show for. In other injury news, Antetokounmpo is listed as probable for Monday with a right knee contusion.

Portland Trail Blazers

A season-high 44 points from Lillard was just enough for Portland on Saturday as they snapped a two-game skid via a 123-122 win in Chicago. Lillard’s hot hand has propelled him to third in NBA scoring with 29.6 points per game and five of six games of 30 or more points.

Dame’s played a huge role in keeping the Blazers afloat in the West as Portland remains without McCollum, as well as centre Jusuf Nurkic and forward Zach Collins. Derrick Jones Jr. is the latest Trail Blazer to go down, as the sixth-year forward is out Monday with a foot injury.

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks’ two consecutive losses sure haven’t been Antetokounmpo’s fault after he went for a total of 72 points, 19 rebounds, and 14 assists in the two outings. Instead it’s more to do with Milwaukee’s defence, one that’s allowing at least 108 points against in each of their last seven games in which they’ve gone 3-4 in.

As mentioned, the good news for Milwaukee is they’re back at home. The Bucks went 30-5 a year ago at home and are following suit in 2021 with a winning percentage of over 75 per cent. Another plus is the play of Jrue Holiday, who’s scored 20 points in back-to-back games after seeing his season points average dip below 16 for the first time since 2016–17.
