Raptors vs. Wizards NBA Betting Odds

This is Toronto’s first game out of its mini-bye for the holidays, and the Dinos are on a three-game losing streak so perhaps the time off was needed. The Raptors players need to avoid looking past Washington and toward a visit to NBA-best Boston on Thursday.

The Wizards were expected to be awful this season after trading away stars Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis this offseason, and Washington enters at 5-24, a better record than only San Antonio (4-25) and Detroit (2-28), which is on a single-season record 27-game losing streak – the Raptors are in Motown on Saturday.

Wednesday is the second of four regular-season meetings between these teams with the Raptors winning 111-107 at home on Nov. 13, rallying from a 23-point deficit. Pascal Siakam led Toronto with 39 points, including 22 in the third when the Dinos began their climb back. Washington still led 107-95 with 5:47 left to play in the fourth quarter but didn’t score again. The Wizards missed their final 10 shots from the field. Kyle Kuzma scored a season-high 34 points but turned the ball over after Siakam’s late basket gave Toronto its first lead since the first quarter.

Toronto has won three straight in the series overall and leads 62-40 all-time and 25-24 as the road team. The Raptors are 7-3 SU in the past 10 but 4-4-2 ATS.

Toronto Raptors

Toronto looks to snap a three-game overall skid and five straight losses away. Nobody of note is listed on the injury report. The defence has been lacking in the three-game skid with the Raptors allowing an average of 120 points per game. Really an unacceptable home loss to Utah on Saturday, 126-119, even with Toronto in the second of a back-to-back simply as the Jazz have been one of the NBA’s worst road teams. Scottie Barnes was terrific with a career-high-tying 32 points along with 14 rebounds for his team-best 14th double-double on the season, tied for 13th in the league. It was his fourth 30/10/5 game this season, fifth most in the NBA. Barnes has a double-double in three of his past four games and is averaging 24.0 points and 12.0 rebounds, while shooting .500 from the field in that span. Pascal Siakam played in his 500th career game on Saturday night, the sixth player in franchise history to reach that mark with the club. The Raptors are 2-8 ATS in their past 10.

Washington Wizards

Washington played reasonably well on Tuesday against a good Orlando team in D.C. , but the Magic won 127-119. That’s really a typical Wizards game as they can score but can’t defend whatsoever. Orlando shot 52.7 per cent, and Washington allows teams to hit 50.1 per cent of their shots, better than only Indiana. A few Wizards returned from long injury absences Tuesday, including reserve guard and former Raptor Delon Wright, but he won’t play Wednesday. The team’s best player, Kyle Kuzma, is questionable due to a right quadriceps contusion. Kuzma left last Friday’s loss to Golden State early due to knee soreness but played Tuesday and had 17 points, six assists and four rebounds in 36 minutes. Kuzma is averaging career highs in points (22.8 ppg), assists (4.3 apg) and field goal percentage (.464) this season. The Wizards are 4-2 ATS in their past six.
