The Phoenix Suns remain without All-Star guard Devin Booker but are still short favourites on the NBA odds against the visiting Toronto Raptors.

Raptors vs. Suns NBA Betting Odds

Monday wraps up the season series between the teams with Toronto eyeing a sweep. It beat visiting Phoenix 113-104 on Dec. 30 behind 35 points from Gary Trent Jr. and 26 from Pascal Siakam. Scottie Barnes hit a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 3:16 left. Every Toronto starter – Fred VanVleet was out – had a rating of at least plus-14.

Chris Paul had 20 points and 12 assists but also six of the Suns’ season-worst 27 turnovers. Those mistakes led to 34 points for the Raptors. Former No. 1 overall pick Deandre Ayton had just four points. All-Star Devin Booker was out injured and remains so. Cam Johnson, Cameron Payne and Landry Shamet were also sidelined.

Phoenix leads the all-time series 32-20 and is 16-10 at home. The Suns are 14-5 against the spread in the past 19 meetings.

For what it’s worth, the Suns and a few other teams have been linked to trades for Trent Jr. He likely will become a free agent this summer by declining his 2023-24 player option, so the Raptors may want to get something for him before he potentially leaves.

Toronto Raptors

While Toronto was playing the second of a back-to-back on Saturday at Portland without the injured OG Anunoby (why we thought the Dinos would lose), it caught a break as the Blazers were without starters Josh Hart and Jusuf Nurkic. The Raptors won easily, 123-105.

Precious Achiuwa was terrific starting in place of Anunoby – the latter whom has been the subject of trade rumours – with 27 points and 13 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season, tying his total  in the 2021-22 campaign. Pascal Siakam scored 24 points, Gary Trent Jr. added 19 against his former team, and Scottie Barnes had 18 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Toronto outrebounded Portland 45-27 as Nurkic was clearly missed. The Raptors are 4-1 ATS in their past five.

Phoenix Suns

For a while there, Phoenix was completely helpless without injured All-Star guard Devin Booker – still out – but has gotten a bit healthier of late and won five of six following a 128-118 OT victory in San Antonio on Saturday.

Not too often do you see a team win by double digits in OT. San Antonio never led and trailed by 13 early in the fourth quarter but forced overtime with an 18-7 run in the final four minutes of regulation. Mikal Bridges scored eight of his 25 in OT for the Suns, and Chris Paul had 31 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds. It was the future Hall of Famer’s fourth straight game with double-digit assists. Cameron Payne and Landry Shamet also were out and will sit again Monday. Phoenix is 4-1 ATS in its past five at home.
