There isn’t another NBA player who has ripped the hearts out of Toronto basketball fans as often as LeBron James. The King of the North welcomes a Raptors side missing two key players to La-La land in a matchup of two of the best teams in the Association.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Raptors enter this game with a 6-2 record and a 5-3 mark against the spread. They’re coming off a 122-104 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night. The win didn’t come without a cost.

All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry and backup big man Serge Ibaka both picked up injuries. Both are out for Sunday’s game against the Lakers. Toronto is still 9-0 straight up and 8-1 against the spread in its last nine against LA. Of course the Dinos have yet to face the Purple and Gold with Anthony Davis in the lineup.

Los Angeles is on the heels of a 95-80 home victory over the Miami Heat. With the win, the club extended its unbeaten run to seven games. The Lakers haven’t lost since opening night of the season, and they’ve covered the spread in seven of six contests during the stretch.

The recent trends suggest total bettors might do well to consider the Under. The two clubs have played below the Over/Under line in seven of their last nine meetings. The Under is also 4-2 in the Lakers’ last six games overall.

Toronto Raptors

Lowry fractured his thumb during Friday’s game against the Pelicans and isn’t expected back for at least two weeks. Ibaka picked a badly sprained ankle and there is no time table for his return.

There’s never a good time for an NBA squad to get hit by the injury bug. That being said, this is an especially difficult moment for the Raptors to be missing two key rotation players. The Dinos have four games left on their five-game trip with stops against both LA teams and then moving on to Portland and Dallas. They will undoubtedly be underdogs in each contest.

Los Angeles Lakers

There’s no mystery as to which players the Raptors have to zero in on at the defensive end against the Lakers. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both in the top 10 of the league’s scoring list. The James and Davis are averaged a combined 52.5 points, 18.3 rebounds, and 13.8 assists per game.
