The Dinos should be short favourites at the NBA odds.

Raptors vs. Hornets NBA Betting Odds

This will wrap up the season series with Toronto leading 2-0. The teams last played on Feb. 7 and the Raptors won 116-101 in Charlotte. The Raptors had four players score at least 20 points. Gary Trent Jr. is averaging 28.0 points in the season series vs. the Hornets, Pascal Siakam 24.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 10.0 assists, and OG Anunoby 22.0 points and 8.0 rebounds.

Miles Bridges leads Charlotte in averaging 23.5 points against Toronto, and All-Star LaMelo Ball is putting up 20.0 points and 8.0 assists per game. Former All-Star forward Gordon Hayward sprained his ankle in that most recent matchup and hasn’t played since. It’s not expected he will Friday, either.

Charlotte leads the all-time series 46-42 and is 27-15 at home. The Raptors are 6-4 in the past 10 but 3-7 against the spread.

Toronto Raptors

Toronto comes out of the break at 32-25 and holding down the top spot for the Eastern Conference play-in tournament but just a half-game behind red-hot Boston for the sixth seed and automatic entry to the post-season. To make the playoffs (past the play-in tournament), Toronto is -417 with no at +310. The Dinos are 1-1 on a five-game road trip that obviously was broken up by the All-Star break. They closed the first half with a 103-91 win at Minnesota last Wednesday. Gary Trent Jr. had 30 points, and trade acquisition Thaddeus Young 10 points off the bench. Fred VanVleet sat out that game with knee soreness but should play Friday. He played nine minutes in Sunday’s All-Star Game for victorious Team LeBron James and had six points.

Charlotte Hornets

The Hornets are a talented but wildly inconsistent team sitting at 29-31 and ninth in the East – one game ahead of No. 11 Washington and missing the play-in tournament entirely. To make the playoffs (getting past the play-in tournament), the Hornets are +475 with no at -714. This team is awful on defence. Charlotte entered the break having lost three straight and nine of 10. There’s speculation that owner Michael Jordan will replace Coach James Borrego if the team doesn’t at least make the play-in tournament and might regardless if the club is one-and-done in that. LaMelo Ball was named an All-Star, the fourth-youngest in league history. He had 18 points Sunday for the losing Team Kevin Durant.
