All eyes in the NBA world Monday night will be on Milwaukee as the Bucks host the Toronto Raptors in a matchup of the league’s only two unbeatens.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

There was no spread as of this writing (see below why), but if the Raptors are underdogs it will be only the second time this season. They were +2 at Washington on Oct. 20 when Kawhi Leonard sat out for rest and the Raptors still won 117-113. That has been their closest victory in the 6-0 start.

Two of the early favourites for NBA MVP are Leonard and Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, the “Greek Freak.” He’s averaging 25.0 points, 14.2 rebounds and 5.7 assists, which are just stupid numbers. Leonard is putting up a not-too-shabby 26.6 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists while playing his usual stellar defence.

The Raptors were 2-1 vs. Milwaukee last year, splitting the two in Toronto. The Freak averaged 25.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists. Eric Bledsoe put up 22.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, Malcolm Brogdon 17.0 points and Khris Middleton 16.7 points. The departed DeMar DeRozan led Toronto with a 35.0-point average against the Bucks. Kyle Lowry was at 19.3 ppg and 5.7 assists and Serge Ibaka 16.7 points and 6.3 rebounds.

The Raptors are 7-2 against the spread in their past nine in Milwaukee. The total has gone over in four of the past five meetings overall.

Toronto Raptors

The Raptors play the front end of a back-to-back, hosting Philadelphia on Tuesday night. Will Leonard play both ends of it? Coach Nick Nurse has said that Leonard will, but things can change. Toronto is off a 116-107 home win over Dallas on Friday to set a franchise record with their sixth straight win to open a season. Lowry had 20 points and 12 assists – he leads the NBA in assists at 10.3 per game. Leonard added 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Three injury questions for Toronto. OG Anunoby didn’t play Friday and was away from the team for personal reasons but is expected to go Monday. Fred VanVleet has missed the past two with turf toe but practiced in limited fashion Sunday and is questionable. Fellow reserve guard Delon Wright has played only five minutes all season – last Wednesday vs. Minnesota – due to a groin injury but is expected Monday. The Raptors are 3-7 ATS in their past 10 road games vs. teams with a winning home record.

Milwaukee Bucks

The reason the spread was delayed on this one is because it’s not 100 per cent if Antetokounmpo will play, which obviously would have a major impact on that number. He took an inadvertent elbow to the head in Saturday’s 113-91 home win over Orlando. The Freak said he briefly blacked out, yet he did play after. He finished with 21 points in a season-low 19 minutes. All concussion tests were negative, but those are tricky injuries and symptoms can be delayed. We are going to assume he’s playing. The Bucks are looking to tie the franchise record of seven wins to start a season set by the 1971-72 team. That team, led by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, finished 63-19 but lost in the Western Conference Finals as it attempted to repeat as NBA champion. The Bucks are 4-0-1 ATS in their past five at home.
