Utah defeated Denver 109-105 last time out avenge last year’s seven-game loss in Round 1, and are convincingly favoured against a Pelicans team that halted a five-game losing skid with a 128-123 triumph at Sacramento.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Utah has been a strong cover option this season, having gone 8-5 ATS – and the Jazz are in good position to improve that mark if head-to-head trends can be trusted. The hosts are a red-hot 10-4-1 ATS in the previous 15 meetings with the Pelicans, and have averaged nearly 120 points per game in the past 10 encounters. New Orleans has been a weak cover option overall, having gone just 5-10 ATS in its last 15 outings.

A slight 57 percent majority of Sports Interaction bettors are siding with the home team, while the same share of wagerers are leaning toward the Over on the total of 218. On one hand, the Jazz have come in below the number in each of their first four home games this season, with the previous three all finishing below 210 total points. On the flip side, the Over has cashed 11 times in the last 16 head-to-head games between the teams.

New Orleans Pelicans

The Pelicans knew that Zion Williamson had room to grow as a rebounder even as they made him the first overall pick in 2019. And they’re seeing some of that growth in Year 2: Williamson enters Tuesday averaging 8.3 rebounds per game in just over 32 minutes – that’s two full boards more than he averaged as a rookie in only 4.5 more minutes. His glass work is a big reason why New Orleans ranks fourth in the NBA in rebounding at 48.3 per night.

Utah Jazz

For all the praise given to the Pelicans’ rebounding prowess, the Jazz have been even better. Utah is the top rebounding team in the NBA, hauling in 49.3 boards per game. Centre Rudy Gobert is in the middle of it all – literally – with a 13.3 rebounds-per-game average that ranks second league-wide to Cleveland’s Andre Drummond (15.8). And frontcourt mate Royce O’Neale provides some nice support on the glass, averaging 7.2 rebounds.
