The Denver Nuggets are starting to tear it up. They’ve won three straight games and seven out of their last 10 overall. They seem to be heading in a completely different direction compared to their upcoming opponents, the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers have struggled all season long but recently managed to climb near .500. However, whenever they start to get there, they fall back again. They’ve lost four out of their last five – including a heartbreaker to the Boston Celtics in overtime on Tuesday. With a few days off, they look to bounce back against a strong Denver roster.

Denver is a 1-point favourite to win on the NBA odds.

Nuggets vs. Lakers NBA Betting Odds

The Nuggets have covered four straight after giving up 125 points in their previous outing. However, they’ve failed to cover in five in a row with one day of rest and are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games against a team with a losing home record. As for the total, the over has hit in six out of their last eight games played on a Friday.

Meanwhile, the Lakers are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games played at home but a measly 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The total has seen the over hit in their last four games overall and their last seven after allowing their opponent to score over 100 points in their previous outing.

Denver Nuggets

The Nuggets will continue to be without Michael Porter due to injury but that didn’t hurt them against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. Superstar centre Nikola Jokic dropped a season-high 43 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists to help the team drop 141 points. Jokic made all but three of his 20-shot attempts.

They are currently ranked seventh in the league in points scored per game and the return of Jamal Murray has helped facilitate that. He only had five points against the Wizards but prior to that, had 20 or more in three of his previous five. He’s getting back in the flow of things after last year’s significant injury.

When these two are on, the Nuggets are as good as anyone. However, both played and were on against the Lakers in their last visit (on October 30) and the Nuggets lost. They had a tough time slowing the Lakers, who scored 121 points. The Nuggets need to play better defence to secure the win.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers had a perfect opportunity to win their second straight game against the Celtics before two missed free throws from Anthony Davis left the door open for Boston to win it. It was yet another disappointing ending for an already disappointing season for Los Angeles. One factor to note here is that the Lakers stars might be suffering from a minor bit of fatigue. Davis played all 29 minutes in the second half and overtime while LeBron James got two minutes of reset in that same span. Those two are expected to play here against Denver, but similar minutes will only tire them out more.

The Lakers’ recent defeat was the second time this year they’ve lost a game despite leading by double digits with five minutes left to play. The rest of the league has done that a combined two times. The talent on paper is definitely there, this group just isn’t finishing games or staying competitive enough to make up for those endings.
