Oklahoma City Thunder

The Thunder have done well to take advantage of a softer stretch in their schedule – but they’re about to face a major step up in competition as they entertain the Nets on Sunday.

The Thunder have reeled off four consecutive victories, though three of those wins have come against Sacramento, San Antonio and New Orleans, who are a combined 18 games below .500. Next up: A Nets team that has won seven of eight.

Nets vs. Thunder NBA Betting Odds

The Nets are big-time favourites in the first meeting between these teams since last Jan. 29, when Brooklyn rolled to a 147-125 victory. Brooklyn comes in having erased a slow start to the season, but has just one win in its previous six visits to Paycom Center. And the Thunder have impressed just about everyone early in the NBA season; despite being picked by many to finish near the bottom of the standings, the Thunder are 5-6 SU and 7-4 ATS to date.

The total for Sunday’s showdown is set at 212, and you can expect to see plenty of action on the Under despite the number being so low. These teams have been among the top Under options in the league to this point, with the Thunder an incredible 9-2 to the Under and the Nets not far behind at 9-4. Brooklyn has come in below the total in 14 of its previous 20 games overall, while the Thunder come in riding a six-game Under streak.

Brooklyn Nets

They’re three of the scariest words any Brooklyn opponent could hear: “I’m getting there.” That’s what James Harden had to say after he erupted for a season-best 39 points in a 120-112 road win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night. It was a long-awaited breakout performance for the three-time NBA scoring champion, who had yet to break the 30-point barrier all season and is averaging just 19.8 points for the season – his lowest mark in nearly a decade.

Oklahoma City Thunder

If the Thunder have any hope of maintaining their decent start to the season, they’ll need to get a whole lot better at sharing the basketball. Oklahoma City comes into the weekend ranked dead last in the NBA in assists per game (19.6) – but there may be hope on the horizon. Rookie Josh Giddey has shown fantastic passing skills so far, averaging a team-high 6.1 assists in just over 29 minutes per game. Unfortunately, he also shares the team lead in turnovers (2.5).
