The Nets appear ready to assume their spot atop the Eastern Conference standings, having reeled off five consecutive victories to erase a 2-3 start. And they’re nearly a road toss-up against the reeling Bulls, who opened with wins in six of their first seven games but have since lost two in a row.

Nets vs. Bulls NBA Betting Odds

You’re basically picking the winner here – and that has the Nets earning a slight betting edge, with 56 percent of Sports Interaction participants siding with the underdogs. The Nets have been dominant in recent meetings against the Bulls, having gone 11-2 SU and 9-4 ATS in the previous 13 encounters. That includes a sizzling 5-1 ATS mark in the past six head-to-head showdowns at United Center.

The total for Monday’s meeting is set at 216.5, with 71 percent of SIA bettors leaning toward the Over. That runs counter to the season-long trends for both teams, with the Nets having gone just 2-8 O/U and the Bulls with four Over and five Unders in their first nine games. Brooklyn has been an Under bettor’s salvation away from Barclays Center, having gone 6-1 to the Under in their previous seven road games.

Brooklyn Nets

It’s never too early to start talking NBA Most Valuable Player – and the conversation starts with Nets star Kevin Durant, who has moved into the No. 2 spot in the MVP odds (+472) behind only Stephen Curry (+446). Durant has ratcheted up the offence in recent games, averaging 30.7 points in the past three contests to take over the league scoring lead at 28.7 ppg. But he was held to just 16.5 ppg on 43.3-percent shooting in two meetings with Chicago last season.

Chicago Bulls

Back-to-back losses to the Philadelphia 76ers have taken some of the sheen off a terrific start by the Bulls – but there’s no panic in Chi-Town, especially with DeMar DeRozan playing the best basketball of his career. The offseason free-agent signing ranks fourth in the NBA in scoring at 26.8 ppg on better than 50 percent shooting – good for a 26.06 Player Efficiency Rating that ranks seventh overall. He averaged 21.5 points in two meetings with the Nets in 2020-21.
