The Dallas Mavericks finally got back in the win column on Wednesday by taking down the San Antonio Spurs in overtime. The win snapped a three-game losing skid, though they’ve still lost nine out of their last 13 games. Now, they get a surging Los Angeles Lakers team who has won eight out of their last 12 games. However, L.A. did get upset by the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. Will Dallas be able to turn it around or will the Lakers bounce back?

The Lakers are 6.0-point favourite to win on the NBA odds.

Mavericks vs. Lakers NBA Betting Odds

The Mavericks are 9-24-1 ATS in their last 34 games when coming off a straight-up win in their previous outing. They are also just 6-21-1 ATS in their last 28 matchups when going up against a team with a losing straight-up record on the season. When it comes to their total, the under has gone 3-1-1 in their past five games overall. It’s also hit in six of their last eight against teams with losing records.

The Lakers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games played overall and 5-2 ATS in their past seven games played at home. They are also 7-3 ATS in their past 10 games where they allow their opponent more than 100 points. Their total has watched the under hit in seven of their last eight home games as well.

Dallas Mavericks

The biggest thing to note for this upcoming matchup is that the Mavericks are missing a significant amount of talent. Superstar player Luka Doncic has already been ruled out for this game with a thigh injury, a massive blow to this team’s chances of winning. On top of that, fellow star Kyrie Irving is listed as questionable with a foot injury. However, some reports have indicated that he won’t be playing. If he doesn’t, that means their two best offensive weapons aren’t available.

So, who will need to take over? That would likely be Christian Wood. Wood is putting up 17.3 points per game and would be the best scorer left on the roster. Even Tim Hardaway Jr. is suffering from an injury that has him listed as questionable to hit the floor here.

Dallas struggled to get past lowly San Antonio in overtime in their latest outing. It won’t be easy again if their stars are out as expected.

Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron James won’t be on the court once again for this game but the Lakers have survived without him. His foot injury remains an issue but luckily, the rest of the team has held down the fort for him since the trade deadline. Anthony Davis and the rest of the crew have dominated.

Davis is averaging 26.1 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game. If he’s healthy enough to play, the Lakers are a much better team with him out there. D’Angelo Russell is putting up 18.8 points a game, Jared Vanderbilt is racking up 1.6 steals a night and Malik Beasley is pouring on an additional 12.6 points. The deadline moves were supposed to send them in the right direction and it’s worked out so far. Los Angeles looks like a completely different roster right now.
