The Golden State Warriors haven’t lost to the New York Knicks in years, and that’s not likely to change in Oakland on Tuesday night.

Golden State had quite the fourth quarter in a 128-100 victory at Madison Square Garden over the Knicks on Oct. 26. Trailing by three entering the fourth, the Warriors destroyed New York 47-16 in that quarter, setting a franchise record with that plus-31 point differential in a fourth quarter in the shot clock era. It was one point shy of the overall team record in any quarter. Kevin Durant scored 25 of his 41 points in the quarter.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Durant is the clear story line for this game because the next time the Knicks and Warriors face off, KD could be wearing New York on his uniform. The scuttlebutt around the NBA is that Durant could opt to leave the Warriors next summer in free agency and sign with the Knicks. For one, all NBA plays revere playing in the basketball mecca of Madison Square Garden. Durant scored a career-best 54 points there in 2013.

Secondly, Durant would obviously cash in big-time with off-the-court marketing possibilities in the media capital of the world. Thirdly, KD would take on mythical status in the Big Apple (and NBA) if he were to turn that moribund franchise around. In that earlier meeting, a billboard was up near Madison Square Garden urging Durant to come to New York, and fans cheered him most of the game.

The Warriors have won the past nine in this series. New York is just 6-13 ATS in the past 19 vs. Golden State.

New York Knicks

The Knicks are so bad it’s really a win just when they cover the spread. They did Monday at +11 in a 111-101 loss in Portland. It was New York’s 14th loss in the past 16 games. Portland led by just one at the half but came out of the break with a 9-0 run and pushed its lead to as many as 18 points in the third quarter. Knicks season leading scorer Tim Hardaway Jr. was just 2-for-12 for five points. Former Trail Blazer Noah Vonleh (16 points, 14 rebounds) and Enes Kanter (18 points, 14 rebounds) were bright spots with double-doubles.

The Knicks are 7-2 ATS in their past nine vs. the West. We’re taking them ATS here simply because that number is so big.

Golden State Warriors

The Warriors were 127-123 winners in Sacramento on Saturday night to improve to 3-0 vs. the Kings this season. The teams combined to make 41 three-pointers, setting an NBA record. It was also the first game ever where both clubs made at least 20. Steph Curry continued his hot play with 42 points, making 10-for-20 from deep. He’s second in the NBA in scoring at 29.4 ppg. Durant is third at 28.5 ppg and had 29 points.

Guard Shaun Livingston, an anchor of the second unit, was questionable with a sore knee, played but only lasted four minutes. The Warriors look to end a 0-7 ATS streak at home vs. teams with a losing road record.
