The 8-8 Knicks split their first two games of the trip, winning by three points in Denver on Wednesday and falling by 10 at Golden State Friday. The Suns meanwhile are 9-6 on the season, but with just a single win in the last 10 days. They last took the court Friday, falling 134-133 at Utah.

Tip-off at Footprint Center gets started at 3:30 p.m. EDT, with the home Suns a 6.5-point favourites on the point spread and the total at 226.0 on the NBA odds.

Knicks vs. Suns NBA Betting Odds

The Suns have been a dominant club this season, winning seven of their eight home appearances. The Knicks are sub .500 on the road at 4-5, and the under has connected in all of their last six road outings.

Head-to-head, Phoenix owns an eight-game win streak against New York and have covered in seven of those games too. The over is 5-1 in the last six Knicks–Suns contests, and Phoenix is averaging nearly 115 points a night in their last 10 versus the Knicks. Needless to say, these are not encouraging notes for a New York squad that ranks 21st in the league with 115.3 points against per game.

New York Knicks

A 19-point first quarter Friday put the Knicks in a hole they couldn’t climb out of, and despite winning the second and fourth quarters, New York fell by double digits. Forward Julius Randle led the club with 20 points on seven of 15 shooting, and remains both the team’s leading scorer and only Knicks player averaging over 20 a night.

The Knicks shot poorly as a team in the loss, going 34.5 per cent from the field and nine for 34 from the three-point line. New York’s a top-10 free throw team this season and that saved Friday’s game from entering blowout territory, as New York knocked down 32 of 34 free throw shots.

Phoenix Suns

Devin Booker’s 49-point night, 45 of which came in the first three quarters, was wasted Friday when the Suns lost by a single point at Utah. Booker knocked down 16 of 31 field goal attempts and went a perfect 15 for 15 from the charity stripe, also adding 10 assists for the double-double. That said, Booker went nine for nine from the arc and the Suns as a team went just nine for 30.

Phoenix remains a top-10 offence with 115 points per game. Booker’s the driving force, averaging nearly double the points per game as any other Suns player. His 28.1 points per outing ranks 10th in the NBA.
