Tuesday night begins a five-game road swing for the New York Knicks, starting off with a tough bout against the Utah Jazz. Utah’s one of the NBA’s lone double-digit win teams so far, but have dropped two straight. The 6-7 Knicks have alternated wins and losses in their last six outings, and for those wondering, their last game was a wild 145-135 loss to Oklahoma City on Sunday.

Tip-off at Vivint Arena gets going at 9 p.m. EDT, with Utah a 4.5-point favourite on home court and the total at 230.5 on the NBA odds.

Knicks vs. Jazz NBA Betting Odds

Utah’s fielded one of the league’s best offences so far with 116.9 points per game, and New York’s an above-average team when it comes to scoring too with 114.7 points per game. And suddenly this game’s total of 230.5 makes a ton of sense. Of note, the under is on a 5-0 streak in the last five Knicks–Jazz contests.

When it comes to the spread, these clubs are polar opposites. The Jazz are 7-2 ATS in their last nine overall, while New York is 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10. Utah’s also covered in six of their last eight versus New York, but the Knicks are 13-4 ATS in their last 17 overall on the road. Utah is undefeated at home this season in five contests.

New York Knicks

It’s not every day you set a season-high total of 135 points in a losing effort, but that’s what New York did the last time they took the court. New York scored 48 points in the first quarter alone, but let Oklahoma City shoot 62.5 per cent from the field and then go 17-for-31 from three. Julius Randle, Cam Reddish, and Immanuel Quickley (off the bench) all scored at least 24 points in the loss. Quickley’s 24 was a season-high for the 2020 first-round pick.

The Knicks are 25th in the league with 116.8 points allowed per game, but a top-10 club in field goal percentage-against. Pace of play has been the culprit to high-scoring Knicks games, as they allow 93.1 field goal attempts per game which is an NBA high.

Utah Jazz

The Jazz were held to under triple-digits for the first time this season during Sunday’s 105-98 loss at Philadelphia. It was Utah’s second straight loss, which came after a four-game win streak earlier in the month. Utah struggled everywhere when in came to shooting the ball Sunday, most noticeably missing 10 free throws on 23 attempts. The Jazz knocked down just 11 of 37 three-point attempts too.

Guard Malik Beasley led the club with 18 points off the bench at Philadelphia. Beasley’s one of six Jazz players averaging double-digit points this season. Lauri Markkanen is the team’s leading scorer with 21.8 points per game.
