The Milwaukee Bucks saw their 16-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday, which leaves the New York Knicks with the longest active winning streak in basketball. The Knicks have won eight straight games following a two-point win against the Miami Heat on Friday. Now, they take on a strong Boston Celtics squad this Sunday. Boston has lost two of their last three games, including a defeat to the Knicks. That previous matchup saw New York win by 15 points but Boston isn’t likely to take them as lightly this time around.

Knicks vs. Celtics NBA Betting Odds

The Knicks are currently 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games when going up against a team with a winning percentage greater than .600 on the year. They are also 20-7-1 ATS in their past 28 games played when coming off a straight-up win in the previous outing. As for the total, the over has cashed in their last five games played on the road against a team with a home winning percentage greater than .600.

As for the Celtics, they are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games played on a Sunday and 35-17-2 ATS in their last 54 games played at home against a team with a road winning percentage of over .600. In terms of the total, the over has hit in four of their last five games played at home.

New York Knicks

The Knicks are firing on all cylinders right now and aren’t slowing down. This success has come due to the excellent performances of both Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle. The two players have led the team in scoring in each of their last eight wins. During that streak, five of those games saw one of the two players score at least 38 points. These two have been the recipe for success as of late and if they stay hot, they’ll give Boston all they can handle.

While they lead the way, the acquisition and impact of Josh Hart can’t be understated. The forward has excellent chemistry with Brunson and it’s showing on the floor. He’s played eight games with the Knicks, winning all of them. He’s averaging 11.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. The team has been more effective from three with him on the court. Not only is he pouring in 1.5 per game, the team is now sixth in the NBA with 15.1 threes made per game over their last eight contests. He’s been a big addition.

Boston Celtics

The Celtics have one of the best wing tandems in the league in both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. However, they will have to do more heavy lifting than they anticipated with a few key players potentially out for this game. Malcolm Brogdon is listed as questionable with an ankle injury, a guy that takes some offensive pressure off them during games on both ends. To make matters worse, center Robert Williams is expected to be ruled out with his hamstring injury, leaving the paint vulnerable for the Knicks to take advantage of.

We’ll have to see how the Celtics respond in this one as they were embarrassed on Friday night. They held a 28-point lead over the Brooklyn Nets while playing at home, yet somehow blew it. They ended up losing by double-digits too. We’ll see if they’re angry, upset and focused in this one after allowing such a winnable game get away from them.
