The Sacramento Kings are a much-improved club this season as they make their only visit to Toronto on Wednesday in the second of a back-to-back. The Raptors are 5-point favourites on the NBA odds.

Kings vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

Wednesday is the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams with Toronto visiting Sacramento on Jan. 25. The Raptors swept last year and haven’t lost a season series to the Kings since the 2016-17 campaign.

Pascal Siakam averaged 24.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in the season series a year ago, Gary Trent Jr. 16.5 points and Chris Boucher 13.5 points and 8.5 rebounds. De’Aaron Fox averaged 23.0 points for the Kings.

Toronto trails the all-time series 27-24 despite winning nine of the past 10 and is 16-10 at home. The Raptors are 7-2-1 against the spread in the past 10.

Sacramento has the longest playoff drought in the NBA but might end it next spring under first-year coach Mike Brown and almost surely would if the Kings were in the weaker Eastern Conference. At worst, this should be a play-in tournament team barring major injury.

Sacramento Kings

The Kings welcomed back probably their best player from a two-game injury absence on Tuesday in point guard De’Aaron Fox, but he was a bit off in shooting 5-for-15 from the field in a blowout loss in Philadelphia. Fox had more turnovers (four) than assists (one). Domantas Sabonis had 22 points and 10 rebounds, but he was in early foul trouble, which helped the Sixers score 80 first-half points and essentially put the game away early. Over his last five games, Sabonis has four double-doubles and one triple-double. Three-point shooting has been an issue of late for this team. Over their last 10 games, the Kings are 27th in the league at 31.9 per cent from deep. Sacramento is 2-5 ATS in its past seven on the road.

Toronto Raptors

The Raptors probably were thrilled to leave Orlando after they were shockingly swept there over the weekend by a bad team. Friday’s loss was close, but the Magic won 111-99 on Sunday as the Dinos fell under .500 for the first time since they were 1-2. Pascal Siakam (6-for-16), Scottie Barnes (3-for-13) and Fred VanVleet (4-for-11) all struggled from the field Sunday, and VanVleet just doesn’t look right in hitting 36 per cent from the floor this season.

OG Anunoby missed his first game of the season Sunday with left hip soreness, and he’ll miss at least a few more. Gary Trent Jr. started for him and had a team-high 24 points. Juancho Hernangomez (right ankle sprain) participated in Tuesday’s practice and is expected to be available for Wednesday. Raptors head coach Nick Nurse is one victory from No. 200 in his career. He’s 199-136 (.594) with the franchise. With a win here, Nurse (336 games) would be the fastest coach in franchise history to reach 200 career victories. The Raptors are 4-1 ATS in their past five at home.
