The Utah Jazz and Golden State Warriors held down the top two spots in the Western Conference standings not long ago – but uncharacteristic slumps have knocked both teams down a peg as they square off Sunday night in San Francisco. The Warriors have dropped six of their last 10 and needed a last-second buzzer-beater from Steph Curry to upend Houston last time out. Utah has lost six of eight to fall to fourth spot in the conference.

Jazz vs. Warriors NBA Betting Odds

The Warriors are 5-point favourites to win on the NBA odds for the rematch of an entertaining New Year’s Day tussle which saw Golden State escape Utah with a 123-116 victory as 5-point underdogs. That loss kickstarted the Jazz’s current rough patch; they had won 18 of their previous 22 games prior to that game, and have gone just 4-7 since. Utah is a disappointing 20-26 ATS for the season, while the Warriors have seen their cover pace slow but are still a solid 25-19-2 ATS.

Nearly two-thirds of Sports Interaction bettors are siding with the home team to cover in this one, while a whopping 90 per cent are on the O221 play at -110. That Golden State continues to generate interest in the Over is a bit mystifying when you consider that they’re 28-16-2 to the Under so far this season. But in this case, the trend might be warranted: These teams have cashed the Over in eight consecutive meetings dating back to the 2019-20 season.

Utah Jazz

The Utah offence has come back to Earth after pacing the NBA through the first half of the season. The Jazz have scored below their season average of 114.7 points in five of their past eight games, despite shooting a respectable 46.2 per cent over that stretch. They’d like to see more consistency from scoring leader Donovan Mitchell, who ranks ninth in the NBA in scoring but has scored fewer than 20 points in three of his last six games.

Golden State Warriors

The Warriors are no doubt relieved to have defeated the Rockets last time out, but it can’t feel good that they needed a last-second Curry jumper to get it done. And even Curry was focused on other things after the game, addressing the fact that his usual pinpoint shooting has been less impressive so far this season. Curry ranks sixth in the NBA in points per game but is connecting on just 42 per cent of his shots, the lowest rate of his career.
