The Thunder are coming off a three-game East Coast sweep of the Pistons, Knicks and Celtics. OKC covered two of those three games including Sunday in Boston.
If the playoffs started today the Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder would do battle in a potentially entertaining first round Western Conference matchup. The two sides go at it on Wednesday night as both teams jockey for home court advantage in the postseason.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Jazz are out of key. They are 9-10 straight up and 6-12-1 against the spread in their last 19 games. They’re coming off a 101-92 setback to the Toronto Raptors as 6-point home favourites on Monday night. Utah is +900 to win the West and +1700 to win the NBA title this June at Sports Interaction.
The club’s offence will have to improve for either of those pipe dreams to become a reality. The Jazz rank 17th in offensive points per game 25th in pace at 98.95 possessions per 48 minutes. Utah has scored less than 100 points in two of its last three contests and the Under is 3-1 in its last four games.
The Thunder remain the best ATS bet in the Association. They’ve covered the spread in 40 of their 64 regular season games – good for a 62.5 percent win rate.
OKC is coming off a three-game East Coast sweep of the Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks and Boston Celtics. The Thunder covered in two of those three games including Sunday in Boston when they won 105-104 as 6.5-point underdogs.
SIA doesn’t seem to believe in the club’s chances to finish the season on a high note. The Thunder are listed at +900 to win the Northwest division despite being just three games back of the Nuggets in the standings. The Jazz, on the other hand, are +165 to overtake the division lead even though they’re two games back of Denver.
Utah Jazz
The playoffs are a little more than a month away and Quin Synder is still trying to figure out his starting lineup. The Jazz head coach is tormented with the Mike Conley Jr.-Joe Ingles dilema. His team seems to play better when Ingles is part of the starting lineup, but Conley carries a much larger salary and reputation.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Dennis Schroder isn’t taking a break this March. A former throwaway in the Carmelo Anthony trade, the German guard is averaging 22.5 points in four games this month. He’s been extremely effective coming off the bench and playing alongside either Chris Paul or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
